focus turbo project
thought it was about time i put this up
Ignore the date in the pics my camera is lying lol .there isnt many detailed pics as i kinda got a bit carried away building it, and kept forgetting the camera, but i bring you up to speed with what has happened so far and then it will be in a bit more detail after that.
Right as i bought the standard car for a bargin price of £1700 this was bought with the sole intention of turboing
Then i bought the focus rs running gear for a little over 2k, i got everyhting including the rs gearbox, looms, ecu, fans, turbo,
when i originally bought the focus it had a slight problem with selecting some of the gears , was nothing major and didnt matter as i was gonna remove it and turbo it anyway. but while i was collecting the bits the problem became worse and was getting harder and harder to select gears, ( had nothing to do with me driving it like id stole it trying to kill it previous to this honest !!! ) so i made my mind up that id get started asap
some of the pics are a bit crap, but gives you the general idea lol
the next night the engine, gear box etc was all out
the next night and the new lump was in !
here is a few more pics of it during the engine work
here it is on the road nearly 600 miles in!
from start to finish i think it took about a month , but i spent a good half of that waiting on parts. so all in all not to bad. i reckon i could do the conversion in a weekend if i had ALL the bits in one go.
at the moment she is running standard power, and standard 1.6 brakes! so ive been taking it easy just wanna get some miles on the engine and let everything sette and then it will come back off the road for a couple of weeks, the new brakes will go on and then a good service. A bit of a check over make sure nothings come loose etc and then it will get abused!
after that .....
i wanna improve it a little bit.
im not happy with how the powersteering pipes run , so i wanna upgrade those to rs ones ,
i wanna replace the last few hoses with roose ones to match the others
then its more power time ...
bluefin
hybrid turbo
manifold
forge actuator running direct at 22/23 psi
blueflame turbo back should see me just over 300 bhp

as far as the loom is concerned
if you wanna run the chargecooler set up then you need the engine loom, the engine bay fusebox +loom and the dash loom and fusebox. you dont need the rest of the internal car loom
and as for driveshafts use either 2.0 focus ones or the tdci ones, there a few other little odds and ends you need to
