cosworth connect
well the thread was on here when andrew gallagher was building his connect four by 4 i was watching in evny coz i had the connects with focus rs engines, so being a cosworth guy at heart i fell in love with the concept straight away . when it came up for sale from andrew i was a little skint so couldnt buy it somebody else bought it and continued with the build using the parts from there 4x4 cosworth then it changed hands 2 times then it ended up in my possession as bought from paul linfoot he kindley droped it off for me too . i will show pics of build up to when i bought it
and as i got it a few weeks ago
it sat there until i had space to put on the ramp i got it running by fitting the loom the bottom pully injectors plugs n crank sensor on to it and a fuel pump in a fuel can just to check engine is ok which so far so good
had main prop lengthend by 45 mm fitted that then was fitting transfer prop when it wouldnt go it far enough only to find the box had been in bits before and who ever had built it had put it together wrong and the part where the shaft goes in is the wrong way round
so it was out with the box and fitted my spare gearbox fitted the shaft.
also noticed while doing this they had fitted a standard anti roll bar which unfortunatly will not fit properly as andrew has intended this to run compression struts by the looks of things
so compression strutts are now in place to solve that problem
then also rear calipers needed fitting but unfortunatly the inner wheel arch wouldnt allow it so i had to cut and mod the area thats in the way to take the rear calipers
thats where im upto so far and will up date soon
