Thanks for the comments guys although ive never welded before now i use to work in a porsche bodyshop so when work was slow i would watch the panel beaters for a few tips they were all super talented. At the moment the engine bay is ready to be prepped for paint then the power plant can go in then its off down to jamsport to be set up can't wait its been far to long in the making.

Default diamond white s2 resto long overdue update with pics

So its been a while and got quite a lot done well by my standards anyway, engine bay painted in fresh diamond white and now putting parts back in ready for the engine to go in.Well here goes.

some before and prepping pics

Then the minty fresh paint went on and i must say the pics don't do it justice

I also had some parts rezinced and the result was awesome i sent 98 items away to be done at a cost of Ł45 bargain thats about 46p an item

Check the end result they look good don't you think

I then started to put some of it back together

some suspension parts all refurbed looking like new

roll bar before

and the roll bar after

hoping the engine will be in soon so watch this space

Thanks gavt123 even though ive only had the engine bay, front panel, inner wings painted for now so i don't damage the rest its given me a massive kick up the arse to make good progress i have just done another lot of nuts, bolts, ect for rezincing and having some more bits painted ready for when the engine goes in then i can get it on its wheels as well and get the engine running at long last.

Hi mate they are the flo-flex ones there not as easy as standard ones to fit i left them cable tied around the rack for a few days prior to help them take shape.

Rob,
Lol i almost forgot as well and had to check my before pics, as for mods yes quite a few.My engine is built consisting of efi converted fully forged, balanced 1.6 cvh bottom end, jamsport spec head with newman cam & solid lifters (the lift on the valves is crazy),port matched inlet with siemens 470cc injectors, airtec rad & cooler, gotec ecu & loom, mongoose 3" exhaust, helix 4 paddle clutch.I'm now in need of a turbo but funds are tight as the mrs is due to drop next wednesday with our first ( a baby girl) but it wont be long before the engine is in.Ive got some more parts back today from my painter so more pics tomorrow.Check out the mexico under galleries http://www.paramountrefinishing.co.uk/ this is my painter (very very good painter)

Default diamond white s2 resto update more bits going on!!

Hi all after getting some more parts back from paint yesterday and not making ford fair today i thought id better get something done on the rs instead.I also got my master cylinder back from the platers so i fitted a repair kit and got that fitted to the servo, made a start on the brake pipes.

engine mount brackets before and after (the paint is better than my daily runner)

gearbox cradle again the paint is awesome well chuffed

brake servo & master cylinder before and after

servo & master fitted

and then made a start with the brake pipes all original repainted ford pine green which is a good colour match

thats it for now more to follow soon!!
