i wasnt going to post on here due to bandwith but sod it lol so bare with me as its all copied and pasted from a different website, so wont make sense but ill update when i update from now on

well i bought another xr4x4 yesterday

i wanted ablack one and one came up onhere which i was happy with

so the plan is to change the whole car to late spec, rearspoiler, fuel cap,rear lights, full cossie kit as it came with a cossie vented bonnet and grill,it will be fully painted in gloss black aswell

then it will be having a full cosworth conversion

only downside so far is the gearbox is stuck in gear, so im going to get a gearbox and clutch as i need to run it around for a few months while i gather my bits

but heres some pics of my old xr4x4, it will be similar to this when ive finished, as i have a set of rouse skirts comming back to me and i just need a rear valance but for now ill stick with the cossie kit until it turns up

how the car looks







the rusty doors







its had a wing and isnt even weldedon so i need to take it off and realign it and weld it on so its secure, you can just see it sticking out from the door







had a roof mounted aerial at some pint, i thought it was an ex taxi but when i took the wiring out its actually for the radio as the original has had the end damaged, so im either going to take it off and weld the whole up, or buy oneof those shark fin aerails but dont know how it would look

spares i bought thanks to xr4x4ever, i bought 4 doors a sunroof off him, he also chucked in the cables and handles i ned for the fuel cap so i just need the cap itself now

so first thing was to change the sunroof so thats all in now and it sits straight and doesnt leak



then was the rear spoiler

took the original one off to find no rust what so ever



and fitted the new spoiler on, i just need to weld up the wholes for the original spoiler now







i also started to take teh towbar off which shouldbe finished tomorrow, and also took the original ford alarm system out which didnt work anyhow and cluttered the engine bay up

i did give it a quick polish and it has come up surprisingly good so will get some pics of it tomorrow as ill be doing a bit more to it then

This is what ive been doing today

ive stripped the interior bare to see if i can find any rot, and ive found not a lot lol

so this is how its stands at the minute

passenger seat mount has gone



and a little hole on inner floor



also found this on one sill, sodont know wether its worth replacing the complete sill or just repairing this bit







does anyone know what these are, ive removed them anyway as i dont see the point in what ever theer doing

roof lining is indoors and im going to retrim it when i find a close enough fabric, but the car will stay like this until its painted now then ill be fitting all black interior with cossie leather



tomorrow if i get time ill start repairing the seat mount andplatng the hole up and going over everything, rear boot panel has been flatted ready for paint but need to mod it to fit the newer style latch first

Ittle update

been busy doing my garage but found a bit of time to do some work on the car

seat mount first, after all the rot decided fall through i was left with this



so started to plate it up inside





and welded a new plate on top just to make sure, i also done the floor hole but no pics



then i started on the internal fuel and boot release, so handle and cable went in, surprisingly the holes are already there but no threads, so i just cut a bit out so i could get a spanner in to nut and bolt it so the handle is in



next is the fuel cap





then i came to the boot latch only to realise the back panel is different and so is the latch, so xr4x4ever was comming down to drop a gearbox for me and he kindly chopped out the panel i needed and a boot latch

so the offending one i dont need



cut out





new panel after i un did all the spot welds



placed in



all welded up





and painted









i managed to get the car in the garage aswell to paint it ready for me to do a gearbox change on it

what ive had installed in my garage aswell





next thing is the gearbox but i wont take pics of that as there is no point as it wont be staying in for long lol, so after this will be a wing change so will update when i do that

Little update more to come to this though

first thing is the wing

only to notice that the inner wing was plit and not where it should be so this got repaired the best i could do it





new wing on, pattern wings are crap, so i let my mate do it as it gave me a headache and was losing patience, the welding isnt brilliant but at that point i didnt care lol
and the wing was bowed in the middle so we need to adjust it slightly with a hammer



doors and tailgate off







then i set about re sealing the joins up that the sealent had gone hard and brittle so removed the old stuffand put new stuff on











and the i masked the garage up and car got it in primer





will be painted tomorrow then flatted then painted again wednesday

Well after over 12 hrs of flatting the car has been painted, it will get flatted again tomorrow and then repainted again

heres some pics of how it turned out, coupld oe runs but these will flat out, and a little pic of the shine out the gun, when this car is finished the shine is going t be perfect

Ok little update

paintwork is almost finished i just have to mop the skirts and rear bumper, buts its looking like this now

i have fitted later style door locks and inner handles

home made carbon covered door handles



and some other carbon covered parts im working on aswell





















i get my interior plastics back next week from flocking, still waiting on my wheels, but then i gota send them off for refurb

and im in the process of looking for cossie running gear and it will be finished

im also going to use my gaz golds coilovers what i bought for the escort on it aswell, and i need to order a carbon splitter

and im going to make carbon door strips aswell when i buy my vac pump equiptment

end of august the car should be finished

Little update

finished some carbon parts off, im not happy with them butim not re doing them lol









also got my roof lining in with my flocked handles, sun visors and hadnle surround







got some leather rear seats



and the rest if my clocked interior, just waiting for my alram to be installed before i fit all my dash and everything







and a couple of panels fitted



i then though that becuase my interior is all black, my carpet is dark grey so it was cleaned and went from this



to this, gota finish it tomorrow as ran out of paint lol





and ive paid for my wheels so should get these soon

everything on my interior will be black, the raven handles will be carbon and the front door pockets painted black aswell

finished the carpet and installed it, and fitted the saf rear seats aswell, but spent most of the day making carbon inserts for my door cards which should be finished on tuesday hopefully and i got my smoked side repeaters aswell
