Hi - it is a textured plastic paint - spray on lightly to build up the layers and this is the result.

It was a German product - i will pop into the paint shop this weekend and find out exactlly what its called as i have thrown the empty can away as quite a few people have asked me what it is.

This is a better picture showing how good the finish really is

Really nice, in the process of doing the same to a black 88 series 2. Started off with a slight refurb then ended up being a complete car rebuild.

Cheers for the compliments

Just finished assembling the intercooler and the fans - needs a bit of a clean as the fans have been sat in the garage for 18 months so a bit dusty but you get the idea.

The intercooler is a GRS unit and decided to paint it black to keep with the rest of the engine bay theme.

Was not too happy with the look of the fans when i put them back so took them apart and gave them a touch up with some plastic paint - look a lot better now.

The shocks were fine but i did do the following

1) Cleaned out the inner part of the hub where the shock slots in as the powdercoat restrict fittment of the shock. I did it with a dremmel and a sanding attachment but did take them down to bare metal, also when you try and push them in use some grease to help them on their way.

If you have not had the hubs coated yet then best to mask up the inner part of the hub to make fitting a lot easier.

2) I did have to knock them in but with a rubber mallett and a pry bar to make some space for the shock to ease in.

As for the stickers they are not all available from ford - i got all mine from Tramona Garage - link here http://www.tremonagarage.com/ - about Ł17 quid IIRC - they are copies but must say very, very good copies.

I know - absolute nightmare getting the turbo in but it looks worse than it is really - most of the damage was there before and its just scuffed the paint but the rad is still good so i will mask up and give it a blow over and that should make it look a lot better.

Well its been a while and i thought it was about time i got my finger out and looked at getting this finished.

Driveshafts, brake calipers, exhaust fitted (properly). Oil now in brake lines now all completed and on four wheels and moving freely for the first time in about 2 years.

Still have bumpers and spoiler to paint, plus gearbox oil, colling system and a few odd jobs to do and then it will be time to fire it up and then MOT time

Some random pics in no particular order of how it is at the moment so lets have your thoughts
