Nice project fella

Know what you are saying about running out of space, lol
I filled my shed, my bro's shed, the loft and the garage when I pulled mine apart, used to take longer to find a part than it would to fit it at times, lol

I just hate it when you are searching for parts ,tools must of spent days looking but as i have got older ive got a bit tidier but i have totally run out of storage got a mk2 cortina the boot and inside is full up with bits a sunbeam lotus which is full up aswell so trying not to take too much off like interior doesnt need to come out.Cheers Neil

Not much of an update been at home today doing other stuff but went to Burton power shop on the way home yesterday picked up a GRP A head gasket and full engine set and new headbolts.

Got the gaskets for a good price and a discount from them if you ever need parts you should ask for chris he will do a deal if you ask .

Cheers Karl giving it a good go to get it how i want it .Got the carbon off carbon delight excellent guy .http://www.carbondelight.co.uk/page13.html

I used to have my own car repair buisness back in 1996 and one of the essential pieces of equipment was a parts washer .I kept alot of tools and this was left round the back of my garage at home since 96 ,was going to ebay it plenty of times so glad i didnt sell it .So after all these years i decide to restore it thought i would plug it in and try it to see if it worked Unbelievable the pump was working and even the rusty old light worked. So the plan is to get the washer all sanded down a little repair to a rusty supply pipe a lick of hammerite ,i can then give the head and block a good clean out ..Neil

This pic after i spent an hour giving it sand down with the DA.

Not a big update but managed to do some work on the engine like got the sump off oil pump spray bar windage tray off cleaned these up a bit popped the core plugs out front cover alternator bracket .Put some cleaner from the wash tank on top of pistons to clean them up .Some pics I took with the phone .

As you can see some of the cooling water has started to rust away the modine unit where it had been sat there laid up .

I will be repainting the block the same colour what is the best paint to use to keep the shine some smooth rite or special block paint any ideas before I use dulux lol.

Hopefully get another bit of time to get the block stripped and in the wash tank this week .
