I was amazed to find this outside my door this morning.
Engine was only posted yesterday (from Scotland!) so Im very happy.
I thought I was only getting the bare engine with a few ancillaries. I told the guy to throw in anything he didnt need and could afford to give away for free.
So I was surprised to find a full loom with ECU, alternator and exhaust manifold, coilpack and leads etc.
the only thing it is missing is a gearbox.
Not bad for £450

Bought some Orange Samco's, pick them up Easter monday.
Carbon Fibre roof on order.
New bits like wishbone ball joints and small things have come through. Getting ready for when the cage is done.
I've heard from the fabricator and getting pictures later today hopefully. Will put them up later.

Got a complete set of seals for the rear brakes through the post today. Rear brakes are in primer, just need a paint.
Took the Brembo's into college and popped the pistons out and gave them a clean. Still waiting on the seals to come through though. These need to be rubbed down and painted.
got some Ally grease through - after seeing some things that copper grease can do I think I'll use this from now.
Also found my bonnet lock lying around (which was covered in grease!) so cleaned that up too. Its needs some paint!
and I made a Shrine! Been meaning to do this for ages!1
All for now

Cage Update
My jaw dropped when Jon sent me these. Thank to him for being so persistent. Took a lot of hassle to get these to me.
Then they added more!

Laquered everything up. While I was waiting for it to dry, got polishing some metals for the Brembo's
When the paint was dry I began assembling the rears with the new seals that I bought. Replaced the dust seal, piston seal, slider seals and the seal by the handbrake mechanism. Was tedious but got there in the end.
The Brembo's cam out very well. I was happy with the finish of everything. Its all smooth and glossy. Just what I wanted.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Looks great Darin, you've breathed new life into this car. Last time I saw it I was at Jamie's, It was still tidy but had seen some use. It seems like it is deffinately in the right hands and is looking stunning Good work

Pictures as promised.
And the removable front end. Its held on very securely. Im very pleased!
Car will be cleaned out and left for the next month or so. I have bugger all money to do anything to it. I need to get some quotes for respray work as well. Still undecided on the colour.

Performance Trim for the Carbon Fibre parts. They workmanship is second to none.
Doubt they have an FRS mould though, so will be quite expensive.

cheers for all the comments.
Had the day off today so got busy with some primer to cover up all the bare metal to stop it rusting.
First, the front end came off
how cool is that! :shades:
Then rubbed down the whole cage, removed a bit more sound deadening/glue and sprayed everything up.
It too me 2 cans of primer which soon ran out, so I found two small cans which were nearly empty...used them up too. So I had to switch to some hammerite to finish off the last bits. lol
I then thought I'd test fit my roof
and from the inside.
Fits nice and snug
