A small update as some time this year or next I'm planning on building a 500 BHP motor . Iv got a crank that iv had for about 3 years now that I'm going to use . I think iv secured a 200 block witch needs some work doing to it but as I'm in no rush I will do the work as and when I have some spare cash . But in the mean time iv all ways been on the look out for a spare head so I don't have to rob parts from the focos motor . Well I think I did ok this weekend as I won two YB heads the one witch I really wanted I got for £445 ye it's not got any valves but I would won't new valves any way . I'm happy with the size
and that it needs some small bits of work doing to it but that's fine . But wot I'm over the moon with is it's had a nice porting job done on the inlet side so that's saved me loads of ££

The second head is a bit on the smaller side and needs a bit more work than the first head but I will be happy to use it as a spare or one day sell it on as N/A head

On a small update I'm constantly on the hunt for parts to get together for this new motor and along the way if I can save a penny or two I will . Iv got hold of a set of BD14 inlet and ex cams and a set of pullys off a very good member off here .
And as iv got a trackdays next Satday iv bort
some new brake pads EBC BLUE STUFF track and race just hoping my new brake discs turn up now from Martin at REYLAND.

Be interested to see how the Blue stuff get on.

I have Pagid RS4 in the front of mine and green stuff in the rear. Mega braking at high temperatures.

Never liked the green stuff pads, they leave a lot of fall out on the wheels that seems harder to remove than any other pad. I also found they created more noise than other pads.

I've no interest in pad residue or noise, I'm interested in braking.
The greens worked well on the rear, not sure i would use them on the front

Just remember not to over brake a car on the rear as it will go light on the rear under braking and could make you loose the reared

Brakes feel great, once you have warmed the fronts.
The greens are soft enough for the hydraulic handbrake to bite very quickly too.

I was meaning for Ian's car.

Surely there are better quality pads than green stuff for rally use?

I used a porterfield high carbon on my track car and they were awesome, not cheap and wore the discs quite quickly but they were amazing. Squealed like a piggy until really hot and you had to bake them to bed them in.

your right mate I did cook them I will take some photos tomorrow when I remove them I had fort the car was braking a bit funny on the rear and was probably why I got a black flag on my last outing as I run wide on a corner lol MSVT told me off for it lol

apart from that the car run spot on all day and we will be going back to oulton park again as it's a stunning track and run very professional.

When you run the yellows in the rear for the first time on circuit be cautious.

Ive got a similar brake setup, when i ran DS2500 on the rear it tended to lock up, spun me round at Oulton several times. So i changed to a std road pad and added cooling which improved balance no end.

Iv all so sent in my 200 block I got off mr Dingla as it needs number 3 bore lining as something with the last owner had it some thing went rong . After it comes out of there its getting sent off to have the long studs done . But in the mean time iv just got some photos of my last trackday .

Don't cool that at 115, its not really warm enough for oil, you ideally need to be around that or above, we run 130 no problems in the rally car.

If you get below 100 degsC you will have trouble with condensation in the oil.

One small update today iv picked up my block from my local engine builders ware iv had a liner fitted and I'm over the moon with there work

In the second photo you can just see ware the new liner sits down at the bottom of the bore . And the 3rd photo shows a standard bore. And as the block needed decking that was done at the same time and the good news it only tuck .005 Thou to clean up . So tomorrow I'm off work so it's a road trip down to Xpower Engines as they are the only company that come back to me and there prices are spot on . So more updates to come soon

Good to see that you are still moving forward. I am about to pull my gearbox and get the selector fork replaced, had some good drives out in mine and now have a list of items to refine.
