I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Awesome work. I wish I had the skill/time /money to do something like this. My favorite kind of project retro with some modernisation.
Can't wait for the next update.

Bit more done...
Finally got around to starting the exhaust system, its tack welded upto just before the rear axle. I have made mounts for the two oval boxes, just need to make some for the rear silencers, make the up and over the axle pipes and weld in the lambda bosses and then weld it all up and the exhaust is done!
At last the exhaust is all tacked together and just needs to be TIG welded up but that will probably be after the new fuel tank is made.
One of my biggest potential problems was how to get the two back boxes/tail pipes parallel and the right distance apart, I did start off by measuring up against the rear chassis rails only to find that Vauxhall decided it was a good idea to position the LH side rail around 40mm further from the centre of the car than the RH side! So I ended up making a simple jig to set the silencers parallel and then used the original number plate fixing holes to gain the centre line.

Exhaust looks good, liking the attention to detail on making them parallel and centred! Too many cars around with squint exhausts. Have you got a pic from the rear as you'd see it if you were following it?

Looks good Martin
I'm just making the exhaust for my car now,
With your v-bands, are they machined with a step to located into each other or with 2 smooth flat faces that just seal up against each other? I'm not sure which to use
Also who do you use for bends and pipe if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks
Marc

Martin that Firenza is going to be an absolute stunner. I've pics on my fb of a totally bogo standard Firenza that me and my bro in law detailed for a show last year. Will see if I can copy the pics onto photobucket and upload a couple

Neville Powell had some involvement with Baby and Big Bertha, he has a space framed baby bertha rep mothballed in his workshop just down the road from me, I think he might part with it.

My dad used to race with "Bill n Ben the Firenza men" one was killed when the car fell on him. Another chap worked on baby Bertha and has a space frame on a shelf in his workshop.
This car is lovely Martin.
