Ok spent a bit more time, got the rest of the interior stripped ,couple of bits of welding needed on the o/s but nothing to bad ,also gave the interior a wash down and spruced up the tyre well ,
Well looking like new again
Visit to the scrappy needed next to get the lower part of the rear quarter panel behind the bumper, as it has some holes there so these will be cut in to the shell ,then pull out the dash tidy up behind the tray and remove the sound padding ,while the dash is out the lower half will be removed and the dash flocked

Yeah.... the K20 engine is a force to be reckoned with even in standard trim, revs to 9,500rpm from the factory, has a chain cambelt, so no worries there, my mate is putting one into his mk 1 golf, problem is they weigh in at around 2k on ebay just for the engine, gearbox and loom..

lol @ the comment about the K20 revving to 9,500rpm from the factory, utter bullshit, unless you shift from the redline in 4th back into 3rd.
A properly mapped K20 with basic stage 1 mods will see around 240bhp, the 6-speed gearbox from a DC5 Integra TypeR comes with an LSD as standard so no worries there.. I think this would be a brilliant little track car with that sort of reliable power, trick suspension and associated extras like brakes etc.
Don't you get bored building feature cars.
Cheers,
Grant

Will update with pictures over the weekend ,the o/s floor is welded up just need to do a bit on the outer sill on the o/s then can start on the ns ,removed the dash and found someone has lashed up the tray so have ordered a new one and will put that in ,also removed the floor sticky sound padding ,sunday i will be collecting the 2.0l zetec (already modded for mk4 fitment) rs turbo gearbox, full exhaust, and various other bits

Right time for an update ,collected most of the engine conversion bits today ,its all come out of a mk4 so nothing needs modding to fit in our one ,also got a few bits for free so well chuffed
Nice 2.0l 16v
Few bits in this pic were free
Bonnet which was free
Stainless exhaust
Zetec in mk4 water hoses
Free including polybushes
Rst box
After we got back in the early morning ,i decided to crack on and do some more on the car ,bought some clear rear lamps to modify,as i did not want the indicator and reverse too dark, also destickered the boot.
Got the welding done on the o/s and sealed up ,also note the lower dash cut ,this will be flocked next and fitted back in .
Looked at the tray which had one fitted but badly finished so spent some time tidying it up and removing the top panel as the batt will be in the car, also will smooth it in better and paint it
Rustcure going on
dried
Next job on the tray after filler is to prime then seal the joints (underside already sealed) then paint. Then on to the n/s floor
More updates soon
