Default Puma - 2.1 ZVH Turbo project - Now 16v (27/09/09)

Hi everyone, ive not been on here in a long time, but i thought id share my puma project..

This is it as a 1.4, lowered and on cossie wheels..

My boyfriend is a mechanic and has given me the turbo bug, so now he's been talked into building mine lol

The new engine spec:
2.1 calibra turbo pistons
Steel rods with ARP rod bolts
Stage 3 head
Piper 285 T2 cam and vernier pulley
T34 Turbo with cut back blades and cosworth rear housing
Fiesta Endura diesel gearbox with RS Turbo LSD
Helix 4 paddle clutch
Universal single pass cooler
Fiesta Turbo Scorpion exhaust system - modified cosworth down pipe
Fiesta Turbo OFAB management (for now)
RS Turbo Bailey breather pot

Cosworth 2wd four pot calipers
Mondeo V6 discs

The car is being resprayed in Polaris Grey and will be back on refurbed Cosworth wheels. I have also bought a new interior from the limited edition Millenium Puma, its a full leather Recaro trim, will add more pictures later.

Some piccys of the progress so far..

Engine bay stripped. The battery tray and original inner wing engine mount has been removed since this picture.

Car at bodyshop..

Engine..

Engine bay painted and engine now sat in, the cooler is just tie wrapped on so i could see what it looks like lol..

What compression ratio did you get as I thought c20 let pistons were suited to 16v zetec and c20xe suited 8v?

the rods are out of a blacktop which make it a longer stroke, the pistons were skimmed to lower the compression and its worked out at 8:1

Cool project Jeni Those Millennium seats are the best by far in a Puma (better than FRP IMO)

Still won't ever be as cool as your Mk1 Escort though. Remember back at Rockingham '07 I was lucky enough to be parked next to it.

My g/f has a Millennium Puma, so I know how good the Recaros in it are

You'll have to come to a ProjectPuma meet when your Puma is done so we can all gawp at it!

Right well its about time i did an update....

The car is now painted and built up (apart from the windows that will be bonded back in this week)

Heres some pics:

Some shots of the colour:

Front bumper recess made to fit new small plate (not legal i know) Im glad the cooler can be seen through the grill!

Down pipe heatwrapped, Rocker cover and inlet painted to match the car. New radiator, cooler and fan fitted, power steering pump, alternator, and wiring loom on place...

Not too far off now, just waiting on boost pipes and hopefully get my millenium interior re-trimmed in time for Ford fair!! Fingers crossed its gonna be done in time for it!!

What colour is that Jeni? Can't decide if it's Curiass, Medium Steel Blue or Magnum grey.
(If it is even a std puma colour that is)
