All I can say is WOW I have followed this project from the start including your previous project XRT and the attention to detail in both projects is second to none, Fair play. is the Fast Ford mag out now??

Cheers guys
Had to repair a damaged thread to cylinder head for thermostat housing that was previously helicoiled and came out so wanted it done properly this time,
Bought a pukka time sett kit from WURTH for about Ł80 and now it has a good as new thread insert
New throttle body fitted and some pics of loom mods for egt/dbw/acc plugs
Will hopefully run it back up tomorrow to bleed coolant system through, can't be driven as DBW needs fully calibrating in Ecu but will tick over ok for what I need to check

Is there a reason why you chose a GT3076 over a Borg Warner? When my car had an air leak on the inlet manifold it idled at 3000 rpm, if you shut off the engine you could hear the Turbo still spinning for quite a while afterwards.
Will you actually race this car or just Track Days?

Hi Toby
I bought my turbo about 2 or 3 years ago and the new BW were not around then, would maybe like to try one in the future though with a twin scroll manifold
For the first year it will most likely be just track days but at some point I'd like to do a bit of sprinting or hill climb, when I'm comfortable in the car and have the diffs and box sorted for the launches lol

When you out in the skyline box it may be worth buying some shock proof gear oil from opie.

I have been looking at r34 boxes, they are smaller than r33, lighter, much stronger ( can take 1000 bhp), close ratio and 6 speed. They are 3 times the price but probably worth it. I might ask MK if he can do the bellhousing.

You can map the response I.e small pedal large opening plus great for traction control, aggressive throttle maps or more sluggish....like a sport button on a modern car.

Hi Toby
The r34 are good as you say but the cheapest I have seen a good working 1 is Ł3250 second hand so your nearly in PDE box territory and rebuilds are expensive on the skyline box if ever needed
I'm gonna stick with r32/33 and then next upgrade would be oppliger sequential for me but doubt il ever save that much for a gearbox

Wrapped the turbo/wastegate downpipe today
Will be doing some of the exhaust too but will need more wrap so won't do that just yet,
Also fitted the front extinguisher lines and nozzles, I couldn't easily mount them from the front looking back so have covered fuel rail and turbo from the back/firewall, the angle of the nozzle is enough to cover what's needed from the mounting locations

Also staked the front hub nuts and marked them along with the spacer nuts
And made another speed sensor bracket as last one was not sturdy enough and the magnetic pick up was too small, will paint bracket once I know it's all working ok
Other jobs done today,
Drained all oil ready to fill with new 10w50 millers nano drive when it arrives Monday or Tuesday, and fitted a new ford oil filter,
Secured door handles to interior door cards as they have been resting in ace up until now,
And had to buy and fit and calibrate a new Ł200 ATL fuel sender as I killed the last 1 by accidentally putting 12v to the ground wire when testing a dash pin my own fault and an expensive lesson lol but all sorted now
Lots more to do before ford fair next weekend

FastFord stand?! Lucky you! I want my Puma to be there one day! What time track you got booked? I mean 400bhp in a Puma is a lot but it will be nothing against you so I'll just wave you past if you're on at the same time as us
#4075
Same as us really, the car isn't even finished yet and I don't think it will be fuly tuned so will only have 220+ ish power which should still be good fun in a little puma. Looking forward to seeing your car though and hopefully I'll get some decent pictures and be able to post them up here if you don't mind?

Re done the drivers side arch liner as the other 1 was too big and would of needed fastners to keep secure and stop it from catching the wheel and ripping out, decided to make smaller to only cover the open top section, much better now and no fastners or cable ties needed as tension holds it in place securely
Need to wait for more of the plastic sheet before I can do passenger side as I used all I had re doing this 1 but glad I done it

With all the fine details you keep adding, the car almost looks too good to use! Absolutely stunning build, I have yet to pick up a copy of this months Fast Ford magazine: best get my finger out before next months comes out!
