That strap will probably scratch the paint while flapping about. But it looks ok there imo

Thanks mate

Unable to use the car now as the PF09 tps has failed and I can not find another 1

It's making it run super rich and it is making a buzzing sound, so need to wait till I can locate a new 1 or decent second hand 1 of those

Anyway for now I wanted to get some more airflow through the car so have drilled the windows

To stop water getting in if it rains or when the car is washed I have bought some climair wind deflectors that will cover the holes so allow air out but hopefully no water in but I haven't got them fitted yet, but more pics when I do

Thanks
Marc

I take it you've removed the heater motor etc? I've also taken mine off but not sure if it's a good choice...

How effective is the roof vent? I wonder if you could mount a fan on the inside to give it a helping hand.
Quick google shows kenlowe make these
http://www.kenlowe.com/Ventilation.php
I guess the square one could be mounted inside the roof on the underside of the roof vent.

Considered going back to glass and electric? I remember Harvey/Jimbo Gibbs saying along the lines of they weighed the electric window set up in the old Escos and it didn't weight a whole lot, so made it worth fitting.

You wouldnt want anything as heavy as that. Plenty of small high flow fans available for the job that wont weigh much. You could even use some of the hardcore computer fans as a lot of the higher end stuff is water proof now and definitely high enough flow to deal with all those nutters with super hot PC's and water cooling etc.

I used to leave my track car at home too many times as it was hot and with race harnesses on a low ventilation it was easier to drive something else and be in comfort.

This is one of the reasons that I fitted things like heated seats to my Cossie pug so that I could happily use it in winter. I also fitted the std blower / heater as it was roasting without the fan. I am looking for a roof vent too.

I've removed the standard blower as its massively obese ( a bit like me ). But ive replaced it with a classic mini heater matrix and a delta pc fan that blows 250cfm. So plenty of air for demist and general cooling in the cabin.

When I replace the roof vent, im going for a pair of computer fans in there too.

Not much done but thought I better get some front arch liners sorted,

Only done the drivers side, these are not super neat as without them being properly moulded to shape for a perfect fit it's just not possible but the need to be easily removable and stop 90% of dirt/water etc

The way I have cut it, makes it a tight push fit into the arch and it holds itself in place, if it needs a few cable ties to keep it secure then I will add them

This is very much a function over form item that will get battered, caught up, worn through and generally ruined over time but it's needed for a reason

Cars now off the road for DBW

Thanks to Markk for sorting me out with a throttle body

Same bolt pattern so no welding on a new inlet flange etc and it's got a slightly larger than standard bore compared to a Cossie 1 too

Time is now ticking down to ford fair and hopefully everything is in place and planned to be ready but it will be tight as always with these cars

Removed my engine loom and all the old throttle body, cable arrangement and pedal box linkage etc

Dropped my loom down to Simon @ Si-leck motorsport wiring lastnight for the drive by wire sub loom to be added and an EGT sub loom to be added and also to change the button arrangement on my steering wheel as I was not happy with it,

Hopefully be picking that little lot back up on Friday

While that is away I am also going to re fit an 82deg thermostat back in the engine as my cooling package seems to work too well as I let car get up to around 85deg water temps before driving and 1 mile down the road its back down to 60 degrees and back in cold start

So pulled off the thermostat housing and didn't realise before but 1 of the bolt holes had been heli coiled and it cam out with the feckin bolt

So on way home tonight I will be picking up a Time-Sert kit from my local WURTH dealers so I can do a proper repair and get that all re fitted

Lots more little things to do before setting up the dbw which is being done a couple of days before ford fair

Nothing like last minute prep work

Looks fecking awesome marc!!

I highly recomend the slider scoops that p4p do, can get them from demon tweeks also but you will need to fit sliders first. Which wont help a great deal until you fit the scoops.

Is it too late to fit window mechanisms?
I've got std manual window winders on the front of the 5 with Perspex windows so I can open them fully like normal glass windows.
Also got my rears on std hinges so they can be opened too.

Yeah not going to use manual or electric due to scratching and the fact I've chopped the frame runners out lol

Will maybe look at the roll cage mounted Velcro window nets if they are allowed as they only Velcro to cage bars, then remove plastic window for the day if weather was really really hot

I went back and forth on plexi with mine and decided that if I was going to use it at all on the road then it had to be glass.

Well done. Make sure you buy a few copies and keep one in a sealed packet... I have them from 1992 Max Power with my 205 and it is nice to have in the history of the car. I have 3 different magazines for the car and I dearly hope to add one from my era of ownership.

You must be really proud!
