Finesse to GTI lookalike
Thought i'd share my intentions with you guys (and girls), maybe I need pointing in the right direction? :P
Just a bog standard Escort 1.6 Finesse in an unknown shade of green (The colour code is H something, which is apparently a blue?!). She's rusting quite nastily under the rear arches and apparently on the front jacking points too, but it's my pride and joy (first car!) and I want to make it a little more respectable!!
Here it is in all its glory!
My plans are:
- GTI skirts and spats, colour coded of course.
- Mondeo Escos style alloys on lower profile tyres
- Colour code side bump strips
- Clean up previous attempts at touch up (They used a paintbrush...)
- Front splitter (Laguna style, if possible)
- Lower springs 40 or 60mm, whichever looks better.
- Anything to stiffen car up as i'll only be able to afford springs, not coileys...
- Air filter and any other cheap performance hop-ups.
- GTI front seats, or anything with a bit more bolster support.
- Laquer front bumper again (It looks too matte?)
- And an exhaust that doesn't look like a pea-shooter (or a dustbin)
Here's a very crude photoshop WIP:
It's no Escos or RS, but one day I'll own one - living down the road from Boreham Test Track has given me a bit of a hunger for fast Fords
