I totally agree with you, 4" is too boyracer for me.

Little bit of update:
Brake servo & master cylinder dissembled and brake servo tested with vacuum and it is broken and leaks so the brake problem found! I have other servo which is being sandblasted & painted in satin black. Master cylinder is ok and it is proper 25mm type which belongs to S2 RST. I Also bought another brake fluid reservoir from orion 1600mfi without abs.
Rear calibers now in place, so the braided hoses. Hand brake working.
Pics when i visit in my mates garage where car now is. Next thing is to assemble master cylinder, servo and change front brake hoses to braided type and bleed all 4 corners.

ps. Hope you understand my crap english

Car looks great, really tidy...

Are you going to install a brake bias valve as rear discs on an S2 can be too powerful and make it unstable when braking..

Other people on here may be in a better position to comment but there have been a few threads about it in the past.. just something else to think about.

Thank you!
I know i have maybe bit large rear disc setup but i believe smaller belong under tea cups? If brake balance would be wrong i will first try to change original rear bias valve position and try to get less brake power in rear. IF that would not help i will buy some brake bias valve for rear lines.

Little bit of problems, all assembled and brakes bleeded properly.
But.. rear brakes scuffles (not release properly) until releasing pressure from the calibers bleed screw. What a hell?

Hi!

Yes those calibers are the old rusty ones after sandblasting & zinc coating.
My mate assembled calibers and told was bit tricky but nothing seriously difficult.

I have 90 spec spoiler in garage waiting for complete respray

I bought bigger (actually smaller) turbo for my erst.
It is Mitsubishi TD04HL-16T type turbo from Volvo C70 2.3 5 cyl 177kw turbo engine.
I believe this would be well enough until 300bhp.
Next i have to buy some manifold flanges and start the project. : )
Turbo axle feels pretty light to spin, this thing may spool nice. My current T03 spools 2500rpm to full boost, i hope this mitsu will spool even faster and not choke at high rev range what garrett t03 tends to do.

Whou, good power! Hard to believe because physical size of turbo.
And.. i believe std cvh bottom end cannot take much more than 250bhp before it vomits conrods
I just got another knackered rs turbo exhaust manifold and compared that to mitsu.. and bolt pattern matches! So all i need to do is some kind of sandwitch plate between t03 flange & mitsu turbo.
Cant wait to see how it performs ; )

Fair play to you Antti, I really really like your car. I never comment on project threads on here but i'm very impressed with yours. Especially seen as your doing all the work outside or in a literally freezing garage!

The bodywork looks absolutely mint, how many miles has the car done?

Good luck with the volvo turbo, I would love to know how you get on with it.

Hi!
I have little garage which i can warm up at winter, but those pics where we do that car in outside is my mate´s house in countryside. The car has done 125.000km / 77.000miles from new and has service book too. The bodywork is not mint in my mind, front wing plastic trims needs to paint, also mirrors need new paintwork. I have 90 Spec rear wing waiting for those parts get paint so i can get all those parts including 90 spec wing paint in same time.
I will update this thread as the turbo upgrade goes on.

Turbo conversion done! My mate installed and did the whole job. Next week i will try to get it mapped.
I took little test drive with 21psi boost and second gear and floored instantly wheelspin... with garrett there was no wheelspin in 2 gear.

Thanks

I really dont know, maybe if cvh will blow i try to get some 2.0zvh with good conrods & pistons so i can get good low end torque too. And overspray would be nice too. But those are next summer things because here in Finland autumn is coming so fast i think i will put rst to garage to wait next summer.

There was some problems after 5800rpm because power go down too early, hard spark limiter was 6700 and power go down before limiter. There was no any reason in megasquirt logfiles, map and spark was spot on until limiter, only injectors was driven over 100% because std efi fuel rail pressure.
Powerband is not so good, but i believe reason is piper 285t2 camshaft.
Those original rubber boost hoses look really funny when driven 1.4 bar in dyno, maybe i have to get some custom made stainless steel pipes next summer.
Next summer i also will get new front lights & amber indicators all around

Some updates 23.9.2009:
I grap spare wiper arms from my mates mk4 escort, shotblasted & painted in satin black. Like new. Old ones has some stonechips.
That rubbish glass antenna is so horrible i took it off and try to get original rear glass aerial work. I need only that coaxial cable to success.
I give her good wash and waxed with collinite marquee elegance paste wax. Garaged naturally under blanket where car is 98% of the time.

Wiper arms refurbhished :

Ugly glass antenna to bin:

Collinite marquee de elegance paste wax & garaging until Fomoco day:

Some new parts arrived:

I am planning to upgrade my headlights for those new ones and also i will change new header tank. I am still thinking will i buy new clear indicators or ambers all around because car is stock exept those indicators.
Next week may be last week i use RST in this summer season because here is autumn and only +5c now and under 0 in nights, basically pretty bad weather. I dont yet know if i put car for sale next spring but here in Finland RST is so undervalued car i believe i cannot get decent price for it. So another option is just keep it my self. I want some other hobby car, maybe escort cosworth or sierra cosworth sapphire 2wd. Also i have been thinking some hot hatch like clio williams or pug 306 gti-6. Breaking is not very sensible option because here in Finland is really difficult to sell rs turbo parts, here is so few who ever knows about this kind of car.
