i have a k reg sierra lxi 2.0 dohc, its ok but want a bit more oomph, well a lot more to be honest, and was wondering the best route to go, the engine is good, only done 64 k, have seen them turbo'd on you tube and they look good, is this a viable option. am on a budget so cannae afford the cossie so was thinking either to tune up my engine or just change it for something else. i know the zetec is the easiest option but heard the redtop doesnt need as much spent on it for good power. had the v6 before so fancy something different. my mate has a mk 5 rs 2000 engine in a scrap fiesta i have the chance of but have heard theres not a lot of performance parts etc for this engine, please, no abuse for thinking redtop, just trying to get the most out the money spent. any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

you could fit the RS2000 engine they have 150bhp as standard or whatever and mine was 165bhp with a chip and a panel filter fitted, not sure what work would be needed to change the sierra over to use the RS2000 management tho, there is also a 2.3L engine in the scorpio that you could consider, a few people use these in RS2000's with a few RS2000 parts and they can make about 180bhp, then there are the turbo options which i know fuck all about, but i know turbo technics did a kit for the 2L sierra but they are rare

thanks for your help m8, i quite fancy it maself noo, i have to go and see the fiesta at the weekend and make him an offer for it, he's a m8 so am expecting to get it cheap, i dont really want the full car but he just wants it away. its all wired up in the xr2 so will have a wee look to see whats involved, is it ok to run them on carbs or throttle bodies as i prefer them to an injection system ?

These 2ltr engines are a good engine.I had one in my old sierra and it never missed a beat in the 3 years that i owned it.Mine was a K reg one.I took the Cat out and fitted a cone airfilter.This made it go a bit quicker.

which 2 litre do you mean ? i had an old 2.3 ghia sierra years ago and loved it, well after the change to a manual anyway, and the old bus went well and had a two litre pinto one as well, it was a great laff too, so was expecting a bit more from the dohc, i drove an auto one in a scorpio and it went well, might give it a service rip oot the cat and steal the filter off ma mondeo and see what its like then, cant see the engine being gubbed as it goes ok, just bought it cos cannae afford a mk 2 anymore, they at crazy money noo, my first one cost me 100 and it was on the road, that was 16 years ago mind you. shells i would have scrapped then would cost you thousands now so i ended up with the sierra lol.
