Are you going to build a proper ice install then. I do like a good sound system.
No nothing like that.
Replace a broken speaker, tidy up the wires that run into the boot, and my boot has a false floor that the sub box sits in and I managed to damage this whilst it was out of the car.
Coming together nicely - the steering well with the red stitching goes really well.
Yeah I thought so.
Spent ages looking at 3-4 spoke RS wheels to keep it a Ford. However people wanted silly money even for tatty examples. So decided to go aftermarket as my standard wheel was going crumbly on the top.
I bought the exhaust second hand and it had the hanger near the back chopped off (which helps tuck the exhaust up closer to the bottom of the car). However, this caused the exhaust to sometimes knock on the chassis.
So decided to modify the chassis hanger.
and weld on a new bracket.
which means the exhaust is still nice and tucked up, but now it wont twist and move about.
Well its done. Car is back from the bodyshop after a little mistake on my part, taxed and insured.
Took a quick pic on the phone before the rain started. Now just needs a good weekend bufty and i'll take some proper pics.
I did have an outward rolled tailpipe to weld on, which has been on the to do list for years, but I kind of like the straight cut on it now. Just wish it was a bit longer so it didnt soot up the bumper so much
Been struggling to get much done with the lack of lighting in the garage and the poor weather we've been having Which also means there is a lack of picture updates.
Managed to get the back all back together this week. I'm hopefully going to have the side skirts and trim on this weekend.
I noticed some of the paint on my rocker had gone a bit nasty and seeing as I cant do much with this weather I had a go at some wrinkle paint.
I will try and get some more pictures of the work done so far this weekend.
Wish my cover same out like that it hardly wrinkled at all although I did spray over old paint

Should not matter going over old paint, you need to get it very hot with a hot air gun ,it takes a good 10 mins to start to wrinkle then hit it with a dust coat when starting to go and this sets it off ,and you need to make sure the initial coats are thick

For the wrinkle I put on 3 heavy coats, one horizontal, one vertical, one diagonal. Leaving about 5 minutes between each.
Then went at it with the heat gun, keeping it moving so not to burn anything. This is the tricky part as you need to stay on it for 10-15 minutes. Several times I thought "this isn't going to wrinkle" but it will do eventually.

You must be really pleased mate. I'm not far behind you with mine. Just waiting on an MOT and then mine is on the road too! Exhaust looks tidy! I need to do something similar with mine.

I am Now im starting plans for winter, going to go for some EFI I think.
I wasn't sure on the exhaust at first, however it has grown on me, just wish the tail pipe was a bit longer so it didnt soot up the bumper!
