Shame you dont live close to me you could of welded my car.
Well mosty of the quality welds on show are my dads. The wheel archs, rear panel etc are me but thats simple spotting. I'm still not good enough at stitching, plus the old man loves his welder!
Looking good mate me and my dad did all the welding on mine a few years ago. Really enjoyed spending the time together were nearly finished now bit of a shame really but its solid now. Reds the best colour too haha.
Ahhh good stuff, although me and my dad have probably spent more time shouting at each other than anything else! I've got a very short temper, which I got from him!
really good work and dedication going on their mate you must have sum patience at least you have give it the kiss of life!!!another old ford saved good on you.
Made a bit of progress today. Got the bonnet, door, and front lights on.
(excuse the crappy phone pic)
I managed to cracked the bumper though
It had a small crack which had been repaired on the corner under the indicator and whilst trying to remove the bumper, flexing it to get it round the wheel arch bracket as caused the crack to open up again
Just read this from start to finish. You've really persevered with it, so good on you. It looks great with the new paint. Now go and get that headlining sorted

Been struggling to get much done with the lack of lighting in the garage and the poor weather we've been having Which also means there is a lack of picture updates.
Managed to get the back all back together this week. I'm hopefully going to have the side skirts and trim on this weekend.
I noticed some of the paint on my rocker had gone a bit nasty and seeing as I cant do much with this weather I had a go at some wrinkle paint.
I will try and get some more pictures of the work done so far this weekend.

That jig you got to get the car onto its side, what is it called exactly? I wouldn't mind one, how does it work? does car need to be bare shell to do that?
top job, great to see 88spec kit and bumpers have been kept, most opt for 90s
keep up the top work
Well its a 1988 car so I wanted to keep it that way . Everyone tells me I need a 90spec bits on it, but I don't want it to look like a ringer Even if that does mean I have to listen to "nice xr3 mate" whenever I'm out in it!

I believe its called a rollover frame. Its like a cheaper alternative to a jig.
Its just bolts to the hubs, then jack it up and push it over. Doesn't need to be a bare shell, although It would make pushing it over easier!. You just have to remember to completely drain all the fluids.
