Yes its running but you sure know the story about being "finished" with these cars.
Little joke from my friends as I told everybody I sold it to Finland. Actually I only borrowed my mums car from Finland to take it to the garage where we rebuilt it.
When working on the car 12 hours a day every weekend you need a brew or two...

Thanks for the Feedback! I also have loads of pics from the build if anyones interested.
Thanks mate! The rev counter is from demon tweeks, but Mike Rainbird sells these too.
Actually it was the worst I've borrowed so far. The winch was fucked and the Sierra didnt fit on it very well. Also as it was very high and driveability was very unstable.
This was the one I borrowed from my paint shop:
There's no better than this!
We'll bring our bikes this time so it easier to get around the ring during the race. I'll give you a call on Saturday then!

Ooops... Long time no posts here. Still have the car...
2014:
Stack rev counter
Underside
Steering rack rebuilt
Shamelessly stole some ideas from MKs Fiesta
Random engine bay pic:
Here's a few random images from last year:
Changed to 18s again
And with my good luck and mechanical sympathy fucked the engine again...
So off to a new rebuild upgrading the spec...

Looks like a beautiful example, the reason I asked about the cage was that I've always wanted to do one of mine but never warmed to the idea of having no helmet on and having an accident on the road, may seem a bit over dramatic though Guess it's a split between having a stronger car but somewhere to bang your head, so logic goes either way.

Thanks a lot for the kind words! Really appreciate it.
Rog: It's a complete weld in cage that goes from the front to the rear turrets.
If you look at how weak the Sierra shell actually is, I'd rather have an accident with a cage aroung me.
Also it transorms the handling a lot as the car is so stiff now. It's very precise to drive now and gives great feedback from the street.

Dankeschön!
The engine had overheating problems for a long time and when I opened it the bores looked scored so it needs rebuilding.
Not yet. Still need to complete the TCAs and build the correct compression struts.
Both diffs are 7,5 with ZF internals.

They are both 7,5s but the left one is a Scorpio / Granada housing which is slightly bigger. The housing will be changed to a Sierra one anyways after is has been sand blasted and powder coated.
The internals are actually BMW plated / clutch type LSD units that are built by ZF in Germany. I have also changed the gearing to a 3.91 from the Scorpio/Granada.

I'm a bit confused now. The reason I said the left was a 7.5" and the right a 7" was because the left housing is quite a bit bigger than the right. With the Scorpio/Granada I assume you mean the Scorpio mk1 from Europe/Granada mk3 from the UK from 1986 to 1994? In that case those use a 7.5" diff, just the same as a 2wd Cosworth Sierra. So is the left housing a 7.5" Scorpio and the right a 7" Sierra one?
But of course the actual 7.5"/7" thing is the diameter of the crown wheel. I wouldn't expect a 7.5" crown wheel to fit inside a housing for a 7" diff.
But even more interesting, what did you do in order to fit the plated BMW diff into the Ford housing? I guess you used the Ford crown and pignon. Do they fit the BMW diff unit? And what about the bearings and stub shafts?
