the mk2 cortina is my all time fav ford and last year I did a deal for one with the owner wanting to p/x his 2 dr for my mk1 rs.31 capri and cash, he flew over from holland agreed the deal and then dropped out and I was truly gutted, but at least I can watch you build yours which is fantastic, once done give me a shout and I will gladly give front row spot on the passionford stand to show it off

Thanks lads.
Bit more progress.
The fuel tank is from a 2004 Pontiac and the in tank pump only puts out 58psi as it has a built in pressure regulator and no return facility.
My engine needs 55psi off boost but will need more fuel pressure as the boost rises.
Took the pump apart, blocked off the regulator, and tested with some spare pipe and guage . Got 80+psi
Refitted in tank and put tank in car.
Scrapped the steel frame i had made as i found some ali that was a lot lighter.
Been investigating the gearbox and found there is not enough depth for the BMW torque converter
The gearbox is Range Rover with 15mm adapter plate then the Lotus belhousing
The BMW converter bolts to a modified flex plate then a 1mm spacer and the skimmed Lotus flywheel.
All that lot means i need another 10mm spacer plate to go between the belhousing and engine.
Got to persuade a mate to mill this out for me

Thanks guys.
Bit more done.
Exhausts exit between rad housing and spring hanger
Made up a couple of heat shields to cover the fuel and brake lines
decided there wasnt enough room in engine bay for the handbrake cable wheel, so mounted it inside the bulkhead (i am hoping its not in the way of pipework at a later date)
