Default Cavalier Turbo 4x4 (Yes its a Vaux)

and yes it does have some rust!!! although not alot luckily!!

Right, thought i'd post up some pics of my Cav Turbo, some of you may know of the car (Chip) some may like them some might hate them,

i have loads of respect for what the ford and cosworth scene have to offer, and its deffo way ahead in terms of performance than the vaux scene, but i reckon were catching up!! lol got a couple of friends who have always been into the ford scene, one with a mint white sierra saph cossie.

anyhow some pics for you lot to look at

when i first got it

after a few basic mods
bit of lowering

then i broke it, excessive speed full throttle at 1.2bar and 1 injector decided to go to sleep resulting in melting and lots of crying

so then decided to muller the credit cards and have a bit of a rebuild

some of the parts, added to this little lot was a full set of roose hoses, and a 3.5inch downpipe

block being built up

new intercooler on

all went well and everything in running 1.2bar and felt great, however just after christmas the gear box then decided to die, diff dropped cracking the housing and went home on the back of a lorry

whilst a new gearbox and locked 4wd system went in

shortly after a trip the the only local RR came back with 272bhp and about the same torque with 230 atw

not mega powered compared to some of you lot but it aint slow and this is still on the standered turbo, with a new turbo tubular manifold etc coming very soon !!

cheers, still a long way to go till its finished

side exits changed now, kinda hidden coming out the corner of the bumper rather than the side, its different makes a good noise and thats the main reason for it

What does locked 4wd mean? Do you bypass the transfer box(they are a bit weak aren't they?)?

I like them, always have!!! Although I think I prefer yours on the standard wheels.

Got a soft spot for the Cav turbos... Always wanted one, I could never get insured on one at 21... So waited alittle longer and got a Scooby...
I did borrow a mate's Cav turbo for a couple of weeks, drove mint, shame they only run Low boost standard. It felt like there was plenty more to be had from it...

In the photo above the rr graphs, you'll see the inners of the transfer box, and theres a hydralic clutch pack which we replaced with solid rings, effectivly locking the box permanently on as the standered system can disingage under braking, they have been known th be week but that is more to do with deglect and abusing them, what i've done removes the weakest link but it still needs regular oil changes,

they do look good on the standered wheels but i just love the moody look of the black wheels

well mines slightly over standered now and when the new turbo goes on it'll have plenty more go, as it is its really at the top of what the standered turbo can deal with.
