Default cossie P100

I decided had enough of the 3door to much work needed to get it up to a good caning level and I've got the esc for that really so decided to get something with a live axle

Got this delivered the other day Natalie wasn't happy had to put it on the patio till the 3door is out of the way.

I've got the rear bed but it was stil in the drive when I took the pics
its solid so cossie power straight in just gotta look at sorting the back end.

I've chopped all the orig engine wiring off so its ready for the cossie engine loom gonna get the front crossmember on so front is rolling then engine box in then look at the axle. I've got an atlas coming for the moment.

I've gotta get 2 saff doors with manual windows and a standard bonnet.

I did have a pang of WTF when I drove the 3door in to the garage

Thing is I took it on a drift day and was a little worried about bashing cones and gates but this is a saff front end so if I bash it or drive over the bumper I can sort it

Cheers

I'm gonna keep this pickup simple, reliable and cheapish

Its much more fun driving cars than fixing

I've got loads of saff stuff for spares but its got a live axle

I'm going to get a plated diff - 6link it on coilovers I might try my 9x18's on it to see how they fit because I'd like to put 17's on the esc.

Engine and box is out of my 3door 4x4 inlet manifold has got dark greens, hybrid t3, Radtec cooler and double capacity rad (hopefully) and ap 6 paddle clutch

also got Vibra Technics engine and gearbox mounts. Bailey tanks and breather Roose Motorsport Hoses and some other bits I've got tucked away

Had to do loads of other stuff before I could get the engine out of the 3door then out of the garage to go in this I had my helper Wayne to give me a hand I got a reasonable 4 hours out of him before Wayne was moaning he was tired hungry and wanted go so he scarpered before I could get the box and engine together and on the mounts as I think he hid the flywheel shit guard face dropped when I got another 1 off the shelf still he left I'm gonna get them together tomorrow all bolted up then I/C and rad and pipe work.

Must start work on the back end

Nice one fella you should put the original wheels on and leave the original bumper on. That would be a really good street sleeper. Its gonna be a hand full when its finished, good luck.

No it wont, it just promotes off throttle understeer.

Lightweight car is good, but light rear and heavy as normal front means it understeers far easier.

Engine and box in Going to do timing belt before I put cooler on.

Gotta get the axle sorted matey didn't bring it at the weekend

One thing the backend of this isn't light the chassis rails are re-enforced for the load weight they carry I had to move the bastard on that driveway stripped like in the first pic I struggled like fuck

I reckon once loaded with axle and rear bed it will weigh the same as a saff but with a lower COG and alot of the weight is inbetween the rear chassis legs and the live axle it could be a good

I've gotta brace the rear legs up because when I jacked it up today I could see flex and twisting on the back end.

will get some more pics later

Always fancied doing one of these, but thought they would look far better with the arse end beyond the back wheels shortened as it overhangs to much - should be simple enough to take out a section

I was all set to do it but the only info I've been able to find points to - if you shorten the chassis more than 15% it has to be SVA'd and they would prob put on a Qplate

Still I'm gonna have the tailgate slide up and tip back so its like a big spoiler

But it was like that when you bought it - must have been converted by a coachbuilder years ago officer - go on you know it makes sense whilst its still in bits

A couple of years ago I would have but I think nowadays with the VOSA patrols and stop checks I don't know if I can be bothered to talk to them

They are so quick to take your car off you with all the new rules don't wanna give the little hitlers an excuse.

I'm still undecided if it pisses me off enough I.e speed humps, driveways etc I'll chop it and put it on a Q plate and be easy MOT's

Smile p100 cossy

Hey guys this takes me back

i did one of these about 3 years back
running yb turbo, 360 bhp at the wheels
and just over 400 lbs tork,
i fitted a capri 2.8i lsd to the rear, the bace plates hat to be moved, and rewelded to fit the springs, and i used the capri rear springs, and this lowerd it by a good three "" in hight,
if your useing a t5 box fit the p100 propshaft fits mint and it will take the power.
i also fitted cossy rear discks to the rear using sierra h/brake cable, modefied at the front by about 10",
the other problem i had was when i was going a round a corner,'' sorry going side ways,
i got fuel starv as there was no swirl pot in the tank? ,

this used to cause the engine to cut, and throw your head out the window, em not good,
so i could keep the p100 tank , i cut the bottom corner off and and welded the bit off the sierra fuel tank with the swirl pot in,
man whot a tool when this was done.
well so whot do i no,
i pulled off in 1st gear went to 2nd gear started to lay the power down started to spin,
i herd a loud bang? whot the fk, the rear spring had snaped in two right by the front mount,
so i went back to the p100 springs,
these are four layer ones, i sent them off and had them de,camberd by 4",
these worked better and took a good kickin,

i sold mine to a guy in blackpool
i still wounder if it is still on the road,
mine was a red, with full blak 92 spec leather full cossy kit 4x4 bon/ escozz wheels,

well thats anuff from me,
by the way hope your god at driving sidwaysssssss
