Default Escort rs turbo rebuild minor update 27/10/08

as some of you may know i couldnt stay away from modded fords for long, and a few months ago bought a escort rs turbo. it had full history, and a few new parts but was put in a garage and left about 4 or 5 years ago. i bought it with the intention of restoring it to its former glory.
here it is

but then i removed the interior and kit and found this

so the hunt was on to find a replacement shell
i found this on e bay it had plenty of t&t and was half tidy

this too needs some work but not as much as the turbo shell
so over the next months/years im gunna try and get a complete car out of the two

It's amazing what you can find when you take bits off. It looked really mint (apart from the spotlights) in that pic. Good luck with the project mate.

thanks for the comments
i only picked the car up yesterday but ive allready stripped it out to check the condition of the floor
pleasantly supprised
been plated both outer seat mounts and thats it

ive also fitted my turbo wheels as the steelies were bald

i was a little worried about the battery tray

but upon inspection of the under side(inside the car) its just the tray and not the bulkhead

it will be ages before its done
i want to repaint all the under side in red, move the battery tray to the boot then start stripping and painting all the turbo suspension and running gear, including polybushing it all. then get it resprayed with all the turbo kit,so it may be a year or so before its done

Looking good so far, you've done a good job fitting that kit/skirts and arches. You realise your gona have to take out your seats again, well the whole interior actually to fit your turbo loom lol, nightmare! I am currently reshelling my grey rs turbo into a red shell, has taken about 2years so far due to lots of set backs along the way.
