Escort RST S2 Zetec Turbo, New Daily drive
Thought Id start a thread on here, got millions of pictures so ill let them do the talking, ill start from when i got the car 3 years ago!
Then I decided I needed a couple of spots of rust sorting and a respray
new front end pretty much, inner and outer sills, roof and loads more
After everything was sorted I got a full respray
then built it back up!
that stage was done! drove it about for abit like that
Then the t34 spat its dummy out so I sent it to turbo dynamics
back
and it was ok for a while then the head gasket went
then it was back together for a while and I bought a GRS front mount and some slim fans, and a radtec radiator
got it fitted but the bumper had to be cut quite abit so I got my mate to smooth the bumper were we had cut
Got it back on and fitted just intime for ford fair last year
O and snuck another fan in there lol
and got a mini feature in performance ford
drove it about a few times
Then the bloody headgasket went again (felpro)
So I bought a 2ltr zetec engine
and some let pistons
and decided it was time to tackle under the bonnet
and bye bye to the 230bhp cvh
and the interior so I got a pair of these
and this
my mate younge got busy with the engine, stripped it down and sent it to get bored out for the new pistons, and to get the zetec rods modified to fit!
nice new looking sump and dipstick tube
started opening up the inlet ports on my head
block back from being bored out, ready for rebuild
(Its rested on a piece of wood in that last one, dont worry
decided to get a manifold made, hopefully give abit of power and look good aswell!
started stripping the car down
Got a couple of bits powder coated
and the turbo on the manifold
by then younge had pretty much finished building my engine
I cleaned the gearbox up (CTS St2) removedhe last bits from the engine bay before it went to get welded
stuck my seats and cage in to see how it would look
then I started on the interior, scraping sound deadner and glue off the body, but then I found loads more rust
anyways off it went to work, first thing was the battery tray
lol!
and some patches
then it was ready for spray
and inside aswell

Thanks for the replys! Going to get my dash flocked I think, but im not sure what to do with the door cards, becouse they look out of place now!
No interior going back in apart from the dash, seats and cage! No radio or anything ! Just need a clutch then the engine and box can go in. Running out of funds though so will have to wait a while until I can afford management (gotech pro x) to get it running! Then get to some shows next year and on some drag strips no track though, to scared to crash it!

I dont know mate, When I was sold the car I was told it was a 1900 power engineering system 2 engine, but When I got the engine out it had 1.6 on the block so I dont have a clue ! unless they are converted 1600 engines?

Cool cheers mate
Managed to get it in, most bits slipped into place straight away!
Had to cut a corner off the engine mount that was fouling on the head but apart from that, it went straight in.
Got the clutch bolted up, cheers rich
The box slipped straight on
Started to lower it in, found it was best to bolt the gearbox mounts to the block and it would go straight in
Bolted up
test fitted the manifold, and bolted the exhaust up so it wouldnt drag on the floor
Looks wicked
Anyway had abit of spare time so fitted the B&M whilst the linkage was off
If you dont have one of these, get one gear change feels seriously tight and smooth!
Thats all for now
