first of all hello everyone. great site. hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction. have just aquired a mpi xr3i stripped out track toy!! now, i took the engine out yesterday and have a 2.0 16v zetec blacktop engine ready to put in. from what i can gather, i'll need a 1800 sump and pick up, flywheel and water pump and it should drop in with the help of a new mount. the probs i'll have is when it comes to wiring. was planning on using the zetec loom bot would like to know which wires need to be connected to where and if i'll need anything else?? thanks in advance, sideways dan.

the silvertop engine is the one ur after ! and its just 7 wires that go on to the zetec wiring loom

went for the blacktop as thought all of the valve issues had been sorted on the later engine. is this gonna be a problem????

sorry for the bref reply was on my laptop at my mates ,
black top has a diffrent block to the silver top so the sump ect wont fit , i no some black tops are put in mk4's but have no info i have a silver top 2.0ltr fez lol so can only give info on the silver top as i havnt done a blacktop

thanks anyway luke. got the blacktop engine now tho so its gonna have to go in somehow!!! to be honest, getting it in the car shouldn't be a prob from what i can tell. like i say, just the wiring i need to know about!!
