Default My nova turbo build

Well i thought i might as well post this up to see if there is any interest in it.

Last year after many years of building and spec changing i finally had my nova on the road and mapped by Mark at MAD. All was well untill i took it to bruntingthorpe for a total vauxhall nova trash where mark met me and we intended on laying down some times and finishing mapping at 2.2 bar. This however happened:

Well finally i have had a new engine built for it and am aiming for 550ish or around that, want to max out the GT30.
This is how it did look prior to brunters:

I have now bought a bolt in cage for it to add a bit of security when driving the bean can:

A Aim dash as well:

And a new engine:

Which is now fitted:

A brief spec:

Engine
Vauxhall 2ltr block,
Steel rods,
Oil sprayers,
CP pistons,
Focus central throttle body,
Area six inlet manifold,
Area six cams,
Solid lifters,
Neil roper ported coscast head,
+1mm valves in head,
HKS head gasket,
Nortech exhaust manifold,
Tial 44mm external wastegate,
Autronic SM4 management.

Gearbox
F28 calibra turbo box,
Quaife diff,
Super clutch twin plate clutch.

Shell
Nova gsi shell,
Seam welded,
Caged,
Leda shocks.

Missed loads off that spec but you get the basics.

Collected my new manifold today, its going to mean som further mods to the slam panel and the radiator but its well worth it. Its made by Jay at Nortech and is amazing quality.

New downpipe with slip jointed wastegate pipe:

Fitted to the engine:

GT30 turbo:

Turbo and manifold bolted up:

One Tial 44mm wastegate from Reyland:

And everything bolted in place to check fit etc:

Last time it was ok for such a big turbo. This time it should be better as the CR has gone up a bit, the head can flow loads more air and the exhaust manifold is a miles better design.

Big Power i think i remember your nova, was it silk violet?

Quick update, got the dash back in and began refitting the cage:

Then i started getting the WI setup working:

I had been having some problems with it which turned out to be the relay that was wired wrong from the factory. Now its all up and working properly i can put it in the boot.

Have you pressurised the system because the last time I saw one of those focus central throttle bodies it pissed air out around the spindle?
