'Project Hairdresser' weber managed 3i Cabby
Heres the story so far.......
Bought it for the princely sum of £400 with a metering unit problem, its been off the road for 4 years and parked under a tree, but the bodywork was sound (ish) and I fancied a cabby for the summer.
This is how I found it:
Looking very sorry for itself
Brought it home, only for some cunt to try and hotwire it
(its covered in moss ffs, did they really think it was gonna start?) Which then left me with this:
Moved house, got a nice garage to play in and now we have this:
Now, I've got no idea about Jetronic, other than if fiddled with, it goes shite. I do however know a little about weber.
As I was breaking my saff at the time, it seemed the right thing to do to squirrel a few bits away
Also still got my 3 bar, greens and loom (just needs a little tinkering)
Stripped the old engine down and was greeted with a shiney nice brand new piper cvh285T2 cam (with 0 miles on as a previous owner tells me!!)
and this:
Doesnt look too bad in the pic, but there was loads of petrol in the sump and that ridge in the top of the bore is nearly a millimetre deep
Picking a new block up tomorrow thats not worn because o/s pistons cost too much moolah and i'm tight!!
Picked up a EFi head from a late orion and a fezzy turbo inlet from eBay for well under £50, so I spend tomorrow lapping valves!
I'm sticking with std internals for now and i'm hoping for around 230 bhp when its mapped, i've got all the little brackets and eec iv sensors etc I need, just waiting on a few bits in the post to start the build proper then its all systems go!!
Soon as i've collected all my bits i'll get a loads more pics up, then get this Focus finished too

Picked up an XR3i 1800 zetec block today thats already been used as a ZVH for peanuts, so it's be rude not to at least try a ZVH!!
I've got my stg3 T3 off the saff onto the erst housing and the heads being built this weekend, should have the engine fully built in about 3 weeks I reckon
Pics to follow

Focus is nearly finished!! I can get on with this now
Roll on next summer
Got all my engine bits now, sticking with std pistons skimmed down 0.5mm to get the comp down, not running more than 14 psi so shouldn't be a problem. Waiting for the guy who does my machining to come back from Benedump and i'll got the block line bored (I'm not 100% convinced the mains I've got came off this block originally)
Thanks to Gadget for putting me in touch with Dave Cox who has made a shithot phase sensor bracket and trigger, a few little bits from Jano and mod one of my 1800 sierra bits to mount the CPS and it'll all go together in a weekend hopefully
Still need a 2wd cos downpipe, but rst-g has that in hand for me hopefully, some paint, hoses and a new hood and it'll be ready to rock!
I'll get some pics up soon, its had a wash since I took the last ones
