Default rs1600i Turbo

hello all well some mite no my other thread on here my mercury grey mk4 rs rep but as i was rebuilding it(nearly ready for paint) well a guy at my dads work was selling some bits and peices for the build so went to see him bout them and a long chat and few fone calls later came back with this instead lol...

just some pics of wen i got home with it but i have started to work on it now so will update as an when i can.

The spec of the the car is:well its a genuine rs1600i in stratos silver but has a s1 turbo engine in it as the bottom end went before i got the car.

ENGINE AND BITS
Its a std 1600 block
stage 2 turbo
t285 cam
-31
chipped ecu(not sure of make)
k and n
2.5-4 inch mongoose system
new t/b
blasted charge carrier and rocker cover
bailey d/v
chome bits-bonnet catch/bonnet stand/coil/fuel filter/strut tops/cable cover and rs1600i sill covers

other bits:
rs7 alloys
konis all round 60mm drop
series 1 bronze tint pop outs
very good interior
v good dash (small crack on top 5mm)
rs turbo gear knob
kenwoods all round
prob lot more that all of the top of my head

the cars std body wise but has had bit of body work/welding done already so is sollid now had brand new floor/wing/bonnet has been waxoiled undeneath and a full spray at some point in its life but still looks tidy

First udate on the car
had a few hours here and there in the week so hav started on a few small things but just waiting for some new injectors to come so untill then i have a bench of fresh painted bits and polished chrome ready for fitting

the car was running very lumpy when i had it so my mate came round to hav a look after we got it running ajusted the cam as was 1 tooth out new spark plugs (bargin lol) dizzy/rotor bit of timing an now is running sweet all needs now is a cam belt an follower as its noisey.

startin buying bits for it so got a set of blue samco boost hoses(thx gup)
bailey twin piston d/v the trumpit one very loud so the neibours say(complain) lol
new black/silver plates with my name on
thats bout it for now as im skint now lol
cheers mart

had few hours on the car today as got few new bits so put them on:
brand new injectors as the old ones werent surplying anuff at full boost and get a gd trade price so worked out cheaper new than rebuilt.
new hoses from from ecu to d/v an inlet.
fitted all my hoses and built the inlet side up with all new gaskets and other little bits.
fitted new black plates looking very illigal but very nice lol:P

then came starting it up but nothing the starter wasnt working afta finding that the starter wire was loose and all melting it worked and runs v smooth just needs a good set up now.

now just gotta swap the old toad alarm with my new toad ai606 with few extra sensors that shud be fun as the wireing is a complete bodge tbh but all will be good wen im finished any advice on fitting that alarm with the window closure sensors?.

will hopefuly be taking to some shows this summer and a blast round the track

is that the original reg number, as it has the later strut top mounts, A,reg onwards only had these top mounts.but does look a very tidy model.

3 times we tried to drive it round the block, and on the 4th attempt it finaly made it back all on its own without having to open the bonnet lol.

i expect fonecalls off you now, its a regular thing, even when im at work, your at work, and the cars at home it still manages to break lol.

Well hello decided to take the dash out today to make swaping my alarm ova easyer due to the engine wiring being very messy and i carnt stand untidy wiring there no excuses for bodgeing it tbo.
so took the dash out to find this hmm Now were to start lol

most are just just cut off haging loose so no idea were they go of for wat so iv borrow my mate haynes manual for a bit of help

also found a bit of welding under the window screen but its all looks very solid under there and the floor due to new panels so 1 thing came good of ripping it out.

mart
