My 100E engine rebuild

Finally after being off the road for around 5 years my 100E is nearly ready to roll again.
The story goes thus:
I bought the car in 1991 and finished it in 2000, I used it sparingly until 2003 where at the croft show it was front ended by an xr3i in the paddock, the car went into the paintshop in january 04 to be repaired, it didn't come out until march 05 due to the owner of the paintshop battling cancer. I picked the car up and went for an mot, on the way home number 4 inlet valve failed ( the head fell off!!) this wrecked the engine. It was soon removed but a house move, a track car and the cossie got in the way of financing a rebuild. The engine finally went in for repair at the end of 07, when the block was found to be cracked, luckily I had a mint spare 205 block that could be used. the engine spec is cosworth crank, rods, pistons and flywheel, ultra big valve head, twin 48 dellortos, the engine previously made 181bhp.
Getting back to present day:
The engine builders (amac engineering of northallerton) have promised me it will be ready by next weekend, so today I fitted the gearbox back into the car this time using an rs2000 alloy bellhousing ( a great weight saving on the previous sierra cast one) I also fitted the propshaft,
I will update as and when I get the engine back and fitted. I am booked on the lakes tour in 5 weeks so the pressures on!!

Very cool car , but I just think its crying out for some deep dish retro wheels. :top:

thanks for the positive comments,
the wheels have always been like marmite, but untill I can fit one of old ford auto services new mk2 front end conversions using coilovers I am stuck with them as nothing else will fit, they are pug 205 offset.

I picked the engine up on friday from amac engineering in northallerton, they had done a superb job of rebuilding it, it has had a repair to the head where the valve bounced around, 8 new valves, guides, bearings, rings , the block was decked and honed and the pistons pocketed for the ultra big inlet valves (1.8"!!)

put the engine in that afternoon it went in with no real trouble, on starting it the ignition timing was out, soon sorted that tho. the inlet manifold gasket was also leaking so I went back to it this morning to remove the carbs and seal the leak, did that and now have an engine running as sweet as a nut!!!
Due to the car standing I found that the remote servo had siezed, freed it off but still need to bleed the brakes, should be no prob tho, will mot the car on tuesday ready for the lakes tour next weekend..
