My 3 door resto update (Now breaking :-(
As some of you may know ive not used my car much over the last year and a half (cant believe its that long) I got it finished from the engine tidy up last year and the new inner wing etc and done about 100 miles max. The car went back in the garage for the winter and in that time ive had some little jobs to finish off.
I had an annoying oil leak which meant I couldn’t really use the car much as it was making a right mess under the bonnet, well that’s now been fixed by replacing the front crank seal and the aux seal (big thanks to Spence from TS Performance for helping with the timing )I also wasn’t very happy with the front passenger arch kit fitment, when it was refitted there was a lot of glue between the plastic and the metal wing which was visble so I removed the kit and while I was in there decided to get serious with the angle grinder and removed most of the metal arch lip!! I had some issues with the tyres rubbing on the front so as the wings are not factory anyway thought what the hell. I’ve now cleaned the lip up and painted it to protect the bare metal, ive also wax oiled the whole area under the kit so shouldn’t have to worry. I need to do the drivers side now also as this is where the weight is hehe.
Also on the agenda was getting rid of the while dials as its too 90's for me now, I managed to source a cheap original 3door dash for £40 and my techy assistant (Brendan) has finally so im told swapped my milometer over to this new dash!! Top stuff matey!!
There is still some work to do before Central Day, Im not happy with the feel of the clutch since adding the paddle one as in the rush to get the engine back in I never had the flywheel ground. So im picking up a spare flywheel tonight which I will prep ready for a swap over. Once that’s done its off to Ahmed for a good setup and some fun at last
Anyway here’s a couple of shots from last week, I must recommend everyone gets themselves an assistant to do all the hard work, its great!!
Note the new fuel rail which is leak free!!!
Cant thanks Brendan enough for his efforts!! Note the chair for me next to him

I have one Paul, trouble is as some donkey who mounted the current one put the screw holes quite far appart so when the little ones fitted you can see the holes in the bumper
When the bumper gets a blow over at some point for stone chips I will get them to fill the holes and then the small plate can finally take its place

Thanks guys, and Cheers Brendan your a star mate.
Im hoping the cars going to be on the Fast Ford stand at Central Day, I need to double check with Neil..
I picked up a spare flywheel yesterday so it can be skimmed and swapped over, have it booked in at a friends garage for next Saturday as I cant be arsed with dropping the gearbox down without ramps. I also need to grease the thrust bearing as its a noisey fooker. But getting there!! Ahmed is going to call me back to book it in for a setup in the next couple of weeks, I hope if hes not to busy..

Little update,
Ive got all the interior back in including the new black dash which looks miles better!! So decided I would take the car for a good run today and when I got back it seems my cam shaft seals are leaking now!! One of them is for sure and the other could also be.. Bloody annoying, I guess this is as it been sat for so long.. Anyway another job on the list now

Small update, ive replaced one of my camshaft seals this afternoon but it hasnt fixed the leak Think it could be the exhaust side or the cam bearing seal perhaps.. not sure yet..
Tomorrow she is having a new flywheel fitted as the paddel clutch has been to rough and the thrus bearing needs some extra grease as its noisey but its getter there now!!
Heres a couple of pics after the test run, also the new dash and the new scratch from the gas board..

Ive had two of those Col and they have both leaked on my car so its not a rail problem. Ive had my inlet runners blasted and the injectors sit lower then they should thus leaking at the top where they sit in the rail itself. Since found out that its recommended to use two O rings with those A1/ carwise rails at the bottom incase of issues like this so could be a good move on yours when you fit it.
