And on this forum there are loads of just that, amazing isnt´t? And thats probavly the reason for all we real enthusiasts are gathered here from all over the world!! :
Keep in mind that we still need to get everything working properly, it is not a supercar just yet

I always liked the shape of the granada from when I was a kid, and not everybody understood/agreed with me when i started working on this car back i -96
- Modding a granada?? Why??
But nowadays, I am absolutely gobsmacked about all the attention and entusiasm this old 80´s famliy saloon car get, even tough we have pushed the limits, it still looks more or less exactly as ford designed it back the early 80´s!
I am really really happy about it, and honestly quite surprised as well
Cheers again
Joel

Oh i know mate, i know....
As i listed on the previous page :
But we have some more work to do now
-Weigh the car and figure out (more)correct springrates,it will be a littel taller than it is now
-Hook up the rest of the wiring
-Get wheel angles aligned , and find a starting point for them to work out from
-Break in the engine and get dynoing
But i´m not in the mood just yet :P

hi joel how come you welded on the top of the plenum would it not of been more pleasing to the eye to have a billet o ringed top plate to be bolted on with a logo of some sort machined into the top as the welding on the plenum lets this phenomenal project down
( unless it is not finished ) keep up the good work

Well how can i put this the shortest possible way..??!!
Hmm..but it has to do with the speed at wich the earth is spinning around its own axe, givng us roughly 24hrs a day.
And from 8 to 17 i am at work, then i have to get home, eat, and might get to hit the workshop at around 19 perhaps. then we can keep going until about 23.30 but then it is time to head home(30min drive) because i have to get a shower and get some sleep before heading for the office the next day at 7
What i am trying to say here Andy, is that TIME is the reason, or more precisely lack of time!! LOL
Given the time available , i think we have done pretty well ;P
But i agree with you, and we did even think about a thick plexi-glass solution for it...that would have been awesome!!

I think the escorts are cars that you more naturally do stufff like this to, they always look mean and you make it look meaner!
The granada never was a race car, more a comfortable exec glider, and so it has to be treated a litle different in terms of visual mods, because it is "never going to be a mean looking car" in the same way as a car with f.ex a rally pedigree like the escort!
Agree?
Good night

I guess I am not the only one interested in seeing the mercedes too as I can see that car has had some major one off fabrication..
Hope Ingar allows some info on that one some time soon.

Besides, nothing has been ground down and NO finishing touches have been done to it as of yet.

slow down tiger as i said (unless its not finished ) im sure it will look amazing when done ,its not that the welding is crap its not ,its just that a billet or as joel said plexi glass lid would have been the cherry on the cake
i never meant to upset any body & if i did im sorry .

if you set your time scale for a set date then thats fair enough , ithink the plexi glass idea would of been awsome .what i said does not make it any less of an awsome car its still the best project on here
my remark was aimed at tnt in a tongue in cheek way, what i really like about your car is to most people it looks like a run of the mill granada .a true wolf in sheeps clothing some thing i can not do with my car because the sierra running gear is to wide,so there for im going the other way as in mad body kit

I just watched "taladega nights" on blu-ray tonight, haha, 2 things i liked, in the rear window of the race car he had this one : " I wanna go fast" , and as for sponsors it just said "me"
I am wondering about doing the same thing!! lol!!

Make that "True rabid werewolf in a fluffy lamb's clothing"..
Andy, no worries mate. Just got the impression that you thought I did a crap job on that, and it's over 40 hours of work in that plenum alone, so I just took it a bad way.

We did not fill it very much due to that this is not going to be drag race engine nor a drag race car, i guess the car will see far more track and high speed action than just drag, so i wanted to maintain as much cooling capability as possible. If this is a wrong route, i have two more blocks to experiment with
It's supposed to be a decent all-round car

hehe, yes I think it would be possible to put all power down in a specific drag race set up, but finding this specific setup will quite some test&tune...

...and the right aero mods... I'd bolt a substantial splitter to the front for this... Someone should do some CFD simulations on the granny shell to determine what speeds can be had without the rear end taking off (or the whole car). I know Joel has seen 300km/h in it already with no drama, but an increase in speed to in effect 380km/h to beat the record should not be taken lightly, the aerodynamic forces go up at an alarming rate at these speeds and a major mishap at that speed would be lethal in ANY car.
