So did the LED's I bought...they are so bad I didn't even want to give them away!!

On a side note, do you know how to stop the H4 lights glowing dimly when the side lights are on? I know one wire receives 5v when the side lights are on which from memory then switches to 12v when you flash the lights apparently so I don't think its as easy as just cutting it?

Once dropped off I went and topped up with fresh Optimax and put 20 miles on it, all the readings on the wideband seemed good but it's still going for another tweak to check up
Even had time to stop for a few photos

Overall it all seemed good with the new manifold, only downside is I've melted another bonnet cable ( not really sure what to do now!!! I've heat wrapped everything, cable had heat protective skeeving)
I really don't wanna go the bonnet pin route if I can help it

I'll grab a pic of the old one where it's melted Later...

All modified/ replaced again
Hopefully this'll do the trick ( fingers crossed )

Take another new bonnet release cable still currently available from the main dealers for just under Ł25 quid

Some high temperature heat proof sleeving 4mm first ( thanks to Stuabear for your advice in my other thread )

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321102014569

I slit it down the middle and placed it over the area I'm having issues with

The issue is when on side lights the H4 slightly lights up with a normal bulb... with the Hid it won't slightly light it, it's all or nothing
I'm sure when we look at it it'll be a easy enough fix
We just need to stop the H4 lighting up on sidelights
Will sort it

This is EXACTLY what I was talking about earlier, not had the chance to look into this properly yet...but definitely something I will be looking into myself at some point...If I get a chance to look before you I will let you know if I find a work around!

Does this mean with your side lights on, the HID is also on fully?

Does this mean with your side lights on, the HID is also on fully?

Yes, then when you go to dipped it goes out, you have to turn the lights off and go straight to dipped
I could live with it as but I'm sure it's fixable when we get round to it

This is how we get round the problem with the VW H4 headlight

If your car has dim dip i.e. when the sidelights are on and the engine is running the headlights also glow dimly, you will need to disable this. On a 1992 8v MK2 Golf GTi this is the two yellow wires that come from the coil fitted on the chassis below the headlight. It is about 10cms long and has a white plug that connects near the bottom of the air-box. Simply unplug this. If you don't disconnect the dim dip coil the headlights will light (not dimmed) when the sidelights are on. N.B. You don't need dim dip to pass your MOT.
See the full link here http://www.staffs-vw.co.uk/golf-mki-...t-upgrade.html

And this is the diagram many use for adding relays

We went straight for food when we arrived, went out for a hot curry the night before... regretted it this morning.
I was cold in shorts and t-shirt too...

Will pop along to the next one, was a nice relaxed atmosphere

Cheers
Not sure when it's in the Mag? We've seen a small pic of Graham's Saff in this months via the net... just waiting on a July paper copy to arrive so we can check as we've not been told... presume if the Saff is in this months the Orion maybe in next month's?
