Project RING Saph No.2 (El Divo's)New motor imminent
Another last minute.com car to get ready for Germany in May....
After deciding to break my mega expensive Escos garage ornament,i needed something to see if i still had the "Cossie Love"....:bigcry:
So i bought a rather nice 4x4 Saffy in Moondust Silver,real nice car with loads of history and mot`s etc and a few nice goodies.....
Unfortunately my new baby decided to spit it`s cambelt tensioner after exactly 103 miles and bend a few valves....
Never mind i thought,i`ll fix it and sell it,and buy a nice M3/M5/RS6 etc
Anyway,done a deal to sell it,was half way through fixing it and my buyer cocked on the deal........prompting me to have a rethink and decide not to bother with a boring German piece of shit and keep the cossie instead...

So......suitably refreshed from the Christmas and New Year mayhem,the rebuild has been restarted....:mrgreen:
Here is some pics from the blow up and strip down......................

To find a rather fruity bottom end....
Fully rebuilt approx 15K Miles ago with forged low comp pistons,dowelled 200 block,wire rung, etc etc.....:mrgreen:#

Anyway.........Super T`s have now gone to be replaced with Sticky's old 18 inch old skool 6 spoke comp Mo`s 
and a few bits and bobs have been aqquired to suitably update it.....:winkle:
So let the modding begin.....:mrgreen:
Gonna try and be a bit more focussed with this one and try and ad stuff that will return a reasonable performance/handling improvement for money spent,instead of just throwing about Ł20K at it like we did with the Escos....:bigcry:
Will feature loads of the usual little Diva tricks,like our fan control loom,fuel pump supply mods,power distribution mods and earthing and alternator feed kit and a few others we are developing at the moment....

Picked up some more bits this week......
Nicely ported 4x4 head to bring my motor back up to spec....
Philloy header tank to match my mirror image breather....
And a nice bailey damper as my Rs500 one wont fit now i have a 4x4 head
Coming together,just a few more bits to source and a load of odds and sods to order and we`ll be onto the rebuild proper....

Almost forgot.........
Nice new Group A style power steering tank....
Lambda sensor with trick loom for closed loop...
And some Diva magic for the cam trigger so the dissy can go completely....
Rocker cover also has a properly fitted -12 fitting for the breather system...:mrgreen:
And a rather nice adjustable rear strut brace.....

Did a bit more yesterday......
Inner wings are mint just a bit dirty....
So Mr Sticky gave them a bit fo a trial clean....
Much better,we will now give the full bay a proper degrease and clean and polish everything up.....
Also stripped a load more off the motor and ended up with 2 piles....
All the crap to chuck away....:bigcry:
And the much smaller pile of stuff getting kept....
Gonna try and keep on it as much as poss now and keep it moving forward....
Also ordered some bits and bobs....
New 044 Pump and fitting kit
New uprated engine mounts
New WRC style custom engine loom with coilpack,Lambda and Cam trigger
New Fuel pump cradle
New intercooler
New HID lighting kit
Gonna source a big wing sump and plenum this week....
It`s gobbling up money already....

Update....
Head is all back on & timed up etc...Cam trigger is all done. Myself & Kev 3dr will be up there shortly to fit rear strut brace & front bushed while Diva gets on with fitting the 044 pump. Picked up the AP's last night & hopefully be getting the wheels today so the front brakes can go, then it's only a weekends work left & it should be readt for Central Day...Fingers crossed.

Update....
Wheels are now on but forgot to take pics
AP's are all cleaned ready to be put on & the turbo bolted on. But sadly we found some rather shocking stuff on the car. The car came with 12months MOT & the Ball joints are fooked, 1 of the bolts wasn't even tight as the thread was fooked & the disc's are ready to shatter. Looks liek a dodgy MOT or someone didn't check the car properly.....WHAT A JOKE
