well i thought i had better do a small update lol
cossie throttle body but the iscv has been welded up so going to use an xr3i remote iscv and modify the inlet slightly
got a cam cover from a mate
4x4 thermostat housing
4x4 water pump
bare 2wd cylinder head but going to try and find another head complete when money allows
4x4 sump
bd10 cams
rods
how the engine is looking at the moment under the side board in the kitchin lol
went to a breakers yard with a mate and spotted this lorry intercooler
had to do a lot of work to clear my drive and garage so that i could get the estate into the garage but finally got the car in there last night
also bought these for the estate just got to figure out what to do with the indicators as the morrette items look crap imo
also got my xr4x4 donor car onto the drive tonight ready to start stripping
will get more pics later this week when i make a start on everything

started stripping the sierra yesterday and got the bonnet, bumper, headlights, radiator and exhaust off
done a bit more today when i got home this afternoon, got the prop undone then unbolted everything to get the engine, gearbox and suspension out then lifted the car with my engine crane
then once i got the car high enough i dragged the engine and box out from underneath
hopefully i will get the rear beam and diff out tomorrow

depends on 2 things,1 - if i go fishing or not lol
2 - i need to make up some box section jigs to replace the rear shocks so i can get the rear shock top mounts in the right place,so depends how i get on doing those as to whether the beam will be out lol

oh right ok i didnt realise that the shaft might be longer,i remember the 2.8 5 speed boxes had longer input shafts as the banger racers used to cut them down and swap the bellhousings to use them on pinto engines

started making my jig for the rear suspension and diff mounts tonight, heres how far ive got so far
these are for the rear anti roll bar mounts and diff bush mount
these locate into the chassis where the beam bushes normally locate
looks a bit rubbish i know but everything was welded together while it was all bolted in place so should be in the correct position

slight change of plan with how im doing the rear suspension mounts now,ive decided im going to cut out the rear floor and use the chassis from just in front of the rear beam mounts to just behind the dross beam where the diff and anti roll bar bolt up to,then once ive got the chassis in place i will make up a new floor section to fill the hole lol

i have been doing a few bits over the week and yesterday, finally got the estate stripped inside and in the engine bay completely now just wiring loom left in
found a bit of rot under the battery tray so will try get that sorted over the next few weeks
got the engine mount plate on the drivers side inner wing drilled off
also during the week i managed to cut the rear floor section out of the sierra so ive got the rear chassis leg sections where the beam bolts to,got all the spot welds drilled out yesterday so now just got the chassis and shock mounts left
at least this way the mounting locations are all in the correct positions, will hopefully have the false floor drilled out of the estate today and will start on the rear chassis aswell

forgot to put these pics up as have had it ready to go for a while now,i want to get rid of the boot lock so had an idea to put a popper on the boot and have a subtle switch to open the boot,i got 2 identicle badges and cut the both up,i cut the centre out of 1 to leave just the chrome surround
the other i cut the chrome surround off to leave just the blue centre
looks like a normal badge when the 2 parts are together
ive got a micro switch to mount inside the bootlid which will be connected to the centr part of the badge,so the idea is when its all connected up to open the boot i will just press the centre of the ford badge

got a bit more done over the weekend, the estates have a false floor in them and a flip up lid that covers the spare wheel well,i drilled all the spot welds out to get the seperate parts out
spare wheel well lid
the 2 sides of the false floor
all 3 parts of the false floor
that left me plenty of space to get to all the spot welds holding the proper floor to the chassis
got all the necesary spot welds drilled out and then started to cut the floor out and finished off like this at the moment
will get more pics today and will hopefully have the sierra chassis welded in by the time i finish tomorrow
