just before xmas i managed to get hold of a turbo off ebay but the exhaust housing was f**cking massive and would have had to be used with an external wastegate,i got hold of a standard erst exhaust housing again from billyrst, luckily i had a garret turbo main shaft that fitted the exhaust housing so used that with the compressor wheel from the turbo from ebay all i had to do then was send it off to gbturbo solutions to be balanced
when i got the turbo back i bolted it on and it smoked like f**k all the time this is when i found out that it was the turbo oil return pipe i had made was causing the problems i had spotted a kit on ebay ages ago so found it again and purchased it 3 or 4 days before xmas but it didnt turn up till just after the new year
the kit was £35 plus £10 postage but then i also had to pay £15 customs charges

once i had sorted the kit out i went to my dads place on saturday and fitted it to the car
i welded the part onto the sump with the engine in place as didnt have enough time to take the engine out to get the sump off,i drained some of the oil before i drilled the hole then when i had drilled the hole i drained the rest out to wash any bit of metal that might have got into the sump when i drilled the hole, once the bits were done i had to run the pipe round the front of the exhaust as it would hav just kinked the pipe if i had routed it any other way
now the car is back on the road again and no smoke now which makes a change

ok finally got round to getting some pics of the frst inlet manifold and charge carrier pipe as i used all the parts from the efi xr3i it had a remote iscv and it looked a bit untidy as i was using a erst charge carrier so the pipes were a bit messy,i had the frst inlet and charge carrier pipe sitting around for a while so fitted them to tidy it up a bit as the iscv is on the side of the inlet manifold
i also got hold of some bonnet raisers the other week from a frst, the holes for the bonnet bolts were in different places so just had to drill an extra hole in each block
