just before xmas i managed to get hold of a turbo off ebay but the exhaust housing was f**cking massive and would have had to be used with an external wastegate,i got hold of a standard erst exhaust housing again from billyrst, luckily i had a garret turbo main shaft that fitted the exhaust housing so used that with the compressor wheel from the turbo from ebay all i had to do then was send it off to gbturbo solutions to be balanced

when i got the turbo back i bolted it on and it smoked like f**k all the time this is when i found out that it was the turbo oil return pipe i had made was causing the problems i had spotted a kit on ebay ages ago so found it again and purchased it 3 or 4 days before xmas but it didnt turn up till just after the new year

the kit was £35 plus £10 postage but then i also had to pay £15 customs charges

once i had sorted the kit out i went to my dads place on saturday and fitted it to the car

i welded the part onto the sump with the engine in place as didnt have enough time to take the engine out to get the sump off,i drained some of the oil before i drilled the hole then when i had drilled the hole i drained the rest out to wash any bit of metal that might have got into the sump when i drilled the hole, once the bits were done i had to run the pipe round the front of the exhaust as it would hav just kinked the pipe if i had routed it any other way

now the car is back on the road again and no smoke now which makes a change

then i also thought i might aswell put my adjustable lower arms on aswell

all on and bolted up

just got rear brake pads to do now

yeh i like black cars aswell mate ha ha,my erst i stripped for the parts to go into my estate was black, ive just stripped a black efi xr3i for the efi parts for the combi,i had the estate painted black obviously, the erst ive bought as the donor car for the combi is black and the combi is black aswell i will have whatever wheels i get for the combi painted a similar colour to the estate wheels im hoping to get it as good as the estate and hopefully keep the costs down under £2500 and then maybe see if fast ford would like it enough to do another feature, was also thinking if performance ford would do a grudge match with the 2 cars

ok finally got round to getting some pics of the frst inlet manifold and charge carrier pipe as i used all the parts from the efi xr3i it had a remote iscv and it looked a bit untidy as i was using a erst charge carrier so the pipes were a bit messy,i had the frst inlet and charge carrier pipe sitting around for a while so fitted them to tidy it up a bit as the iscv is on the side of the inlet manifold

i also got hold of some bonnet raisers the other week from a frst, the holes for the bonnet bolts were in different places so just had to drill an extra hole in each block

i just meant that people can say what they want but its my car so will do what i want yeh i cant wait for people to start saying the same about mine i need them at the moment as my fan is only standard so it has trouble coping with the heat especially with the front mount intercooler i will still keep them though once i get a decent cooling fan
