Escort Cosworth Full Re-Build - B1 ADD ** Small Update **
As some might now i started this over a YEAR ago, I have been slowly collecting parts, however i have almost everything i need to get her back on the road.
It started as small winter spruce up but as these things go, its all gone a bit mad!...
So it was put off for a while, and i made a decision to break my Saph for parts to help fund the Escos Project.
That was a sad day, but she will be re-carnated into the Escos as i have kept some of the parts and of course My number plate
A year down the line, but i have now cleared the garage ready to press on with the Escos
All the underside and engine bay has been stripped, any parts i dont need anymore sold on.
The car was running a Healthy 360 BHP on MSD Evo Software, so power was fine, it was just the rest that needed sorting.
So a quick rundown of main new parts:
PRO Alloy 500 Cooler
PRO Alloy Fuel Swirl Pot (external)
Bosch 023 (Mike R fitting kit) Bosch 044 Fuel Feed
Koni Adjustable Shox
Ahmed Bayjoo Track Spec Springs
Mike R Decamber Kit
New Poly Bushes
New Samco Hoses
New Rear Brakes
SECS Monitor and ACT Gauge
New Morrette Diamond Lense Head Lights
RS500 Grills and Smoked Indicators
Plus new Ford Supplied Side Lights for the Wings.
New window caps and bolts, gear stick and gaitor etc.
An various bits of Shiny Bling..
I am also going thru the whole car replacing anything i think i needs.
The whole underside is being painted whilst i am at it.
All the tanks, strut brace, cam cover, plenum etc are being powder coated at the moment.
So some pics of how it looks at the mo:
I am taking the head off this week and doing the head gasket just to be safe, as i dont want to do all this work then it goes
I Found out the head had been ported when i removed the plenum, so thought it would also allow me to see if the pistons or valves had been modded.
I am also having a the rear bumper and rear 1/4 panel painted as i manage to hit a fookin low post just before i took it off the road
Will keep the updates coming

Right pulled the head off this eve, the block and head looks good, no real worn waterways
But as i suspected the head gasket was leaking very slightly, it had split on the edge just under the manifold.
Lil Basst !
Going to strip the head down next and replace the exhaust manifold gaskets and oil return gaskets.
Going to get both the head and block checked for flatness this week.
Also want to give the engine bay a good clean now, hoping for some sun this weekend
Also need to have a better look at the turbo, and housing as i am unsure of the size.
The turbo compressor housing says Garrett B.C.1 M27
The Housing Marks are M4 10190 A/R-A CH6
Not really sure what these mean, but hope someone can help
I was just lookin for .63 or .48 markings

Going to replace it with a Group A one as i am not going over 400 BHP, Plus the block and head are perfect so dont want to have wither skimmed.
I have been painting today, Looks good, was a test really as i am changing the shox, springs & bushes.
But looks soo much better:
Going do take all the fuel filter etc out now and drop the beam down so i can get to the floor pan.
Also gave the fuel tank a clean, its come up much better than i thought,
might give the underside a quick once over with plastic coat as its a bit
tarnished
I did this a while back, but just to re-cap, i bought a new Gaitor from Mr Gaitor, with a bit of fiddling i did a mock up, but tonight i have re-stapled it
so it fits and stays.
Good Quality too for the price.
I am also looking to fit the SECS where the ash tray goes, and i have aquired a
blanking plate where the coin tray would go, for the SPA Gauge and the ACT Gauge.
Going to do a bit more over the weekend, i am currently waiting for my
turbo filter from AS and am having a custom fuel swirl pot made to run the
023 into and 044 out .

Right though its about time to do a small update..
Its all gettin less and less
She now has no front bumper and just the Block left now.
I have been gathering more new parts:
New Front Windscreen Valence and Fixings
AS Crome Bufty Tank Straps
My New Custom Fuel Swirl Tank which is pukka.
This i will be running with a Bosch 023 in the tank and a 044 supplying the fuel to the rail, just have to order some braided hose now
I spent almost two hours gettin the bottom bottom cambelt pulley off Sunday so
i could change the oil seal and gaskets.
I am almost there now on the stripping down of the car, will get some pics up on the weekend
so you can see the state of play..
I have been hounding ford for some original Window Graphics too.
I have manage to aquire some 1993 Ford Alarm Sticker and Some Keycode ones,
They are 1993 ones, but used on the Mondy's so going to see if they fit in with the others.
More Underside Painting on the weekend i think

I have looked again and its deffo a .63
I thought i would post a close up pic of my Newly Powdercoted RL7's, They look fookin ace in the Sun Shine !.
Spoke to a very helful guy at Raceline who kindly sent me some new decals for free
All four have been done, going to run without centres, make it look more motorsport IMO.
I also gave the Fuel tank a good bufty too.
Its in good condition under all the mud and cack .
However when i first had the car i did not realise it was plastic and painted
it with normal black paint, erm.. bad mistake !! as its peelin off .
So i am going to rub it down, and give it a good coat of Plastic Cote i think.
And my new AS Bufty tank straps turned up yesterday
Think i might have to order a New Bufty water rad pipe too new pad day..

I had to have one welded in two places as it had cracked, seems to be common thing after speaking with Mr Ripley
I did wonder why the front kept going down for no reason
Forgot to add to the new Parts List.
New 20 Groove Rear discs and Pads
Mike R Quick Shift
lots more i cant think of at the mo... lol. .
