Default Escort cosworth..New engine time after Doninton 27th. page.6

Due to the gearbox loosing 3rd gear again and diff and sump cracking on the December track day,i had to drop the engine and box to sort them problems out.

while the engine and box was out the engine bay looked a bit tatty tbh and i decided then to give the car a full respray as it had a few light scratches on it and the laquer on the rear spoiler was peeling bad and there was a bit of rust coming through the left side of the boot and rear arch panel, they needed sorting soner rather than later.

So,on Thursday i took it over to Neil to get it in as i want to try and get it all done ready for the trackday at Croft, not a good thing to do when it has just come out with fresh paint etc....

here are a few pics of it the way it is now.

how bad is this.

the rust been cut out on the boot.

the rust on the rear arch has been completely cut away, making sure nothing will re-appear.

thats it for now, will keep updating it as Neil progresses with it.

Lee Reynolds

firstly got a cheap morgage as we have had the house for over 12 years, got a good paying job imo too, especially working overtime and working away from home for months on end, just ready to go away to Sellafield for a job that has never been done before, got to dismantle something that is highly dangerous to my health, radiation, contamination etc..

also i have got to have had cosworths for over 14 years now so all well paid for, just upgraded them as you do.

the 3 door was a project just to make a few quid,an investment to spend the profit on the mk.2 and it will be sold to fund the rest of the work, that will bring me ŁŁŁ's to finished it.

i sold my first mk.2 a few months back which funded a bit towards the second mk.2 shell.

Alison does not mind as long as shes gets her perks.

bought a few bits for the shell etc...

then Paul from Gartac did a good deal too and imo its a investment in a way,as long as i don't crash it.

no there you go,now you know you nosey coont. pmsl!

smitsturbo

i would need a new oot then without the top screw holes in it

and being honest i like it.

that is my wheel , yours is still unwrapped and may be going on the mk.2 if i get a boss for it.

typical brickie/builder then....part timer...and getting rained off too i bet.

Ł800 , ours is well below half that....iirc,not that big of a house but it suits me to have the house we have and the cars i have,i could sell them and have a bigger house.....narrrr.

you can get another fixed rate Lee,just cost a few ŁŁ to get one again.

think we will get one again,it does save you a lot.

it had to be done, really a waste of time to put it together just for Croft and then stripping it again ready for next year.

might aswell do it while it was the way it was.

Ginge !

i think i have had my fair share of projects for a lifetime Ginge.

a few pics of a bit of progress of what Neil has done.

its getting there.
