Default project "simon" S2 update 23/06/07

Thought i would post up some pics of my mate simons s2 ,he started to strip it a while back to cage and bucket it ,car had a show cage and leather in it from when he bought it years back and fancied a change ,he bought my old carbon bonnet off me ,car also needed the usual bits of welding doing so it was off to my mate Daves garage for some work ,you may remember a while back i posted some pics of a escort we hacked the roof off as simons had a rust problem and he wanted rid of the sunroof. So it was Dave and his mate Steve on the metal work and me on the filler and sealer work .
Simons car with mine on the way to national day 06

Said donor car for roof.

After we were done with it.

Car went to Daves and had the rot cut out and plates made and i carried out the filler work as needed ,fuse box area ,bulkhead, battery is going in the boot so this was taken out and fresh metal put in ,holes were welded up in the bay and filled, fronts of the wings needed attention and also the chassis rails and rear panel .

Filled and re sealed

Chassis rails

Silver roof skin was unpicked off the old frame and welded to the shell

Simon bought a second hand saftey devices cage ,came with no diagonal so dave put one in and also a rear brace

Next on the list was to remove the boot well ,new plate ,was welded in ,then i got to work with the filler ,sealed it underneath and stone chipped aswell .

This is how the car stands at the moment ,this will be having poly windows, courbaeu seats, @250bhp oh and a side exit exhaust ,lots of carbon inside and a trick dash ,more soon
