You will not have fuel problems,
your fuel setup is ok (great injectors and management).

The problem is the air flow.
The mix on the outer cylinders would have less air and more fuel
despite your larger throttle body.

With the standard Escort manifold ,which has the throttle body in the middle of port 2 and 3 that means that 1 and 4 clyinders suffer a per cent loss of air flow.Having reached that kind of power levels your outer cyls will suffer. This air flow loss will do a great damage to your engine.

Since you have recently rebuilt your engine (using quality pistons),i think that it's a pity.

I would advice you to use the EFi setup {efi inlet+adaptor plate if needed} (combines economy with efficiency) or a larger custom made inlet.

I doubt the level of airflow lost on the outer cylinders, if any, is much let alone enough to worry about. Especially being a boosted circuit of air with the inlet being pressurised under load. Would only make any noticeable difference on a N/A engine.

I wouldn't worry AJC

paprst,

I see no reason to change the inlet. The EFI inlet does not have a plenum chamber in which the standard unit does. The reason to change from the standard unit would be when a restriction of flow is encountered.

As it is, the engine feeds off the plenum. The turbo simply replenishes the pressurised air in the plenum that the engine takes.

Have a look at the standard item a properly.

Are you also one of these that beleives that a 5th injector doesn't fuel to each cylinder evenly? LOL!!

AJC I dont have a problem m8 ,after all you are the owner !

I have built (and rebuilt) at least 8 turbed cvh engines on both inlet setups, and i can tell you the efi setup makes the difference.

DazC Please m8 post me a pic of the standard inlet, i dont know how it looks!!!

i would say the escort inlet is better than the efi setup due to the plenum size alone i cant see you actually seeing any difference tho unless youve used both on the same car on rolling road or something.
andy do you want one of these wrc breathers for your escort??lol

paprst dont mean any disrespect buddy, just the slightly larger plenum size of the escort manifold compared to the small efi one, in theory* should work better.

Would be good to do a back to back test though

The probelm with the EFI plenum is that the 2 centre cylinders are GUARANTEED to run leaner than the standard plenum as air entering the manifold at supersonic speeds will be rammed into the 2 inlet runners directly opposite the throttle body.
