My 2wd Saph UPDATE 07/04/08 MASSIVE UPDATE!! Respray+Rebuild!!
Right, having owned my Saph since October now I thought it was high time I put some pictures up to show the progress I’ve made with it so far!
I bought the car with the intention of using it everyday and going to a few shows in the summer with, as the Series 1 is too good for that and I’ve got plans for it anyway so watch this space… but so far the Cossie has led a pampered life in my bloody garage!
Anyway, enough of my waffling, this is how it looked the day I picked it up:
Straight away there was things I didn't like, mainly the fucking lights so subsequently this happened about a fortnight after buying it
Put in genuine Cosworth Headlamps with Amber Front Indicators and Amber Side Repeaters
It now looks like this
Much better!

The next thing on my list was to sort the rear end out a little, as you can see from the pics above it didn't have a late spec number plate surround and the OSR Light Cluster was cracked and full of sealer!
So I popped up to a mates garage where it's a Sierra graveyard as he does banger racing and robbed a couple of parts
It now looks like this
It stayed like this for a while, but after driving it a mates and out on the motorway it was apparent that the dumpvalve which was on it is a peice of fucking crap!
So I promptly binned it in favour of this
and more importantly this
I fitted these up a couple of weekends ago and the engine bay now stands like this

Back to the point about using the car everyday, I thought it needs to be better on fuel and be abit more modern for me to be able to use it everyday and still enjoy it.
After speaking with a couple of people I was highly recommened to Stu @ MSD for his Closed Loop Conversion and Wasted Spark Conversion.
Obviously I would need an L8 ECU to run closed loop so this was purchased not long ago
along with a Lambda Sensor
These will be fitted up hopefully in a week or two's time, the rest of the conversion, chips & drivers etc will be purchased from MSD this week.
I also purchased a second Ignition Amp ready for coilpacks
Finally for now I bought a nice Auto-Meter Ultralite Boost Gauge courtesy of Mr Ripley for very cheap money so thank you Paul
I need an A Pillar mount for it but again that will be along soon, i've also got coming a mint 4x4 bonnet and a late spec Black Dash for it to match the mint rear leather seats that have also been bought
Just need to find the rest of a good Leather interior to match now

Lots of parts arrived today! Got home and I had more parcels than fucking christmas!
First up is a nice new A Pillar mount for the Boost Gauge, bought from Nomad
Also picked up a brand new PF09 (4x4 TPS (Cheers Jase )
and now the good stuff!
After chatting with Stu @ MSD yesterday about going closed loop, he advised me that with the car being pretty much standard on yellows and only running 1 bar of boost the car should be running very close to Lambda 1 as it is, hence fitting Closed Loop wouldnt see a great increase in fuel consumption.
He's now talked me into going Greens and a Stage 2 Set-up running 24 psi boost spike and 22psi held
Parts arrived today without fail as promised by Stu, thank you mate, very highly recommended
Chip
Brand new 3bar Map Sensor
and 4 Bosch 803's
Hopefully this should see the car to about 315/320bhp, anything over 300 and i'll be a very happy boy at the moment
Finally i've now totally shit it because of the boost increase and bought a 4x4 Saph cooler to get me by, looked into clutches and also enquired about a rebuild on the T5! ROFL Happy days!
