It's only really the axle weights and overall weight of vehicle plus your intended use of the vehicle we need. The dimensions will mimic the original units and weights will be very similar.

As long as the engine doesn't go pop then I can have some fun with it before the next round of spending being the long stroke engine.
I find you forget about the cost if you spend a chunk per year.
Cant wait to try it out again, it is so much fun to drive

Rear prop just delivered and they have taken the 19CM out of the rear most bit but forgotten to remove 25mm from the smaller rear output bit. I am going to fit up the box this weekend and see if it is 25mm exact before sending off again, annoyingly the whole rear section must go back as it has to all be balanced together. So even if all goes well I will not be on the road this weekend. Oh Well!

In fact they have got it totally wrong. They removed 19mm from the rear section not 19cm so I am dropping it off tomorrow to have the further 18.81cm taken out plus the other 25mm from the output part, pre bearing. Oddly I wrote 19cm minus in marker pen plus attached a not in bold to say cm not mm. Never mind, they have been great about it and think I can drop it off on way to meeting and pick it up on way back.

Drove up to Birmingham this morning at 8 am, got there by 11 and got the oppliger long box from Bara. I have to say a big Thank You to them as they are so simple to deal with and explained everything and showed me what they had done etc.
On the way home I ordered a clutch release bearing and picked that up
I cleaned up the clutch arm and gear lever in the sand blaster then painted them
Oppliger short shifter finally arrived from<br/>Italy and my props came back next day from prop shaft services, big thanks to them too. So at 15:00 today I was at home and by 17:30 the box and props are in the car and I made up an adapted line for the hydraulic clutch line. I have a few jobs to do tomorrow but all going well at moment

Good question. Suprise to me today. You don't need it for mot so will either do a micro switch on lever or a manual switch in car. The 205 reverse is about as good as a candle so no Biggy. The longer box means the switch doesn't work in the casing. Good spot tho

Box and props all in and bolted up tight, clutch bled. Just need to fabricate the last bit of the box support mount and I will be able to put the exhaust back on and then fire her up and see what it is like. I might need to modify the gear lever a little as mine is quite short but will see how I get on. The quick shift hardly moves across the gate up and down at all.

I dropped the prop back to them on Thursday am and Thursday pm they couriered it back to me all done and correct this time 25mm out of the short section of rear prop and 19 CM out of the long rear section.
Oddly enough my oppliger gear kit came with a 25mm spacer for the front prop but I already had a complete new prop made to suit anyway.
I have the really strong reyland uprated cover and the clutch is super light, really pleased with that.

Centre gearbox mount all done and bolted up. Oil in.
Need to fit up the exhaust and clip up the clutch line then nip up the big bolt on the slider on the rear prop, refit the anti roll bar and I think I am done.

I was laying under the car on the ramps and a bit of something small dropped in to my eye (I normally wear eye protection) and after lots of flushing and eye drops I ended up in A&E this morning, they turned my eyelid inside out and put a numbing drops in there and told me to relax, then she shouted, "bring me a needle, no not that one, a bigger one" to he colleague. I was very relaxed NOT.
They couldn't get it out as it has gone in near the pupil like a splinter so I am now off to an eye specialist to see what they can do....great.
My MK bladed arb and comp struts came today, looking great (through one eye)
Hope to run the car this week.

There is a very rare phobia of pointed objects relating to eyes (this is true) and I have it so I am not over the moon about the needle and a burr tool they are about to use
Aichmophobia (pronounced [īk-mō-fō′bē-ă]) is a kind of specific phobia, the morbid fear of sharp things,[1] such as pencils, needles, knives, a pointing finger, or even the sharp end of an umbrella and different sorts of protruding corners or sharp edges in furnitures and building constructions/materials. It is derived from the Greek aichmē (point) and phobos (fear). This fear may also be referred to as belonephobia or enetophobia.

Well I am back from the eye specialist, I have to say the GUILDFORD eye unit / clinic were brilliant, just as good as the last time I went private, nice people and very efficient, the consultant was so good I could hardly feel the needle and he got lots out, he said it had gone rusty but one bit would not come out and he said it would cause too much trauma to carry on so I have to wait until Friday for it to heal and he will take the rest out then. It now feels like I have an eyelash in my eye the whole time and my eye is just streaming.

MK thinks my beam will be ready in about a week.
I am dreaming of the day I pick it up from the trimmers with the carpet and rear parcel shelf done...another big expense no doubt.

and i've always been quite an eye-protection fetishist. just bad luck, same as you i guess.
it's awful: while everybody laughs at you 'cause you look like captain hook, you're disoriented and struggling with big headaches.
sorry to hear this... hang on mate!
friday'll come soon!

And now the drum roll>..........
I ran the car up tonight on the ramps and changed up through the box, with no load there is zero noise and the clutch is amazingly light even with Reylands toughest cover. Martin is right that it is one of the best Cossie mods.
I have welded the correct thread on to the Cossie shifter so I can put the 205 std gear nob on there as the shift and reverse pattern is identical and I have put a 1 inch 45 degree kink in the shifter to move the nob forward by 1 inch so it feels bang on where it should be in the car.
I have 1 slight weep on a water line to cure and then I can drive it.
I was a little concerned about the guesstimate gearing due to 3.9 diffs, close ratio and only 195/45/16 tyres but it does 20mph per 1000 rpm in 5th so perfect for 140 mph at 7k / 150 at 7.5k which is easily enough for what I will use the car for.

Just been catching up on this thread, so good to see you at the closing stages of the build! Looking at the pictures a few pages back I personally think the car looks much better with the standard lights in. I hope you keep in that way.
Sounds like a total weapon to drive from what you have posted so far!

It certainly felt every bit as quick as my mates R8 V10 which was chipped to 570bhp and that was with the slower shifting and wider and higher geared box, it will be interesting to try the new box on the road this week.
Plus there is probably another 100 bhp to come and lots more torque when we rebuild the engine.
