Default Back in the RS scene - only took 9 years!!

After 9 years out the RS scene i'm finally back.

Previously an owner of a 3dr Sierra Cosworth, a 4x4 Saph & a Series 1 RS im now an owner of a Series 2 90 spec RS turbo.

Good to be back but unsure what to do. She does have surface rust and a small hole in the floor pan but otherwise good. Think the plan once shes home is to strip it & see whats what........

I see on facebook, you asking about a dash. Have you phoned the breakers just off the A420? They had/have a MK4 Escort in stock.

Yes that's the one, I don't know how far off it is from the A420? I saw a post on FB suggesting they had a Mk4 in stock, Not sure on the model/spec as there's more than 1 different dash in the MK4 Escort.

Don't forget Ford Breakers in Cheney Manor, It's worth asking them to allow you to look round and you'll find some good stuff. Granted they don't have as much stuff as they did 10 years ago.

I'm sure you'd update this thread with anything you'd need. I don't have much stuff left from my build and spares.

Ive had my Escort for 10 1/2 years and the Fiesta for 3 years. I'll be driving the Escort from 1st June after just shy of 2 years on SORN, I'm not sure when I'll have the Fiesta out again... I keep thinking of letting it go, But its a nice example with plenty of history.

Yea it's just before Wantage. I did call them yesterday but there unsure what they have - just said pop down have a look and take what you want lol

Ford breakers haven't had much & certainly not an RS in years I wouldn't of thought!

Ah you Swindon? Let me know of spares you may have that want shot off - maybe of use haha

Trust me guys if there was one its been ripped to shreads. As with all cars there. You have to be very lucky to get first dibs on a 80's 90's ford there as i know a guy who is only a few miles away gets all the good bits.

My spares, That I know off are 2 very good taillights-Very shiny. Genuine amber side repeaters. I think passenger side dash vent, G-H plate dealership pack books/manuals(certain I have 3 for a G plate Escort that had to be scraped many years ago). Alloy wheel centre caps, various clips and fittings, front seat belts and buckle, metal anchor points, 2 bonnet vents, stereo plugs(power/speakers) the top spec premium sound 2000 stereo and its amplifier. A decent MK4 Escort Jack with its sticker in tact.

Really I need to get in the cupboard you see to the side of the Escort, and sort out everything.

As for Ford breakers, They had lots of uncut parcel shelfs above their office. They didn't know what they come from, They'd been there for years... Plenty from a MK4 Escort all uncut. They wanted Ł10. Ideally its a matter of going in and asking to look around...Of course it was a handful of years I last went there, Its likely to have changed hands since?

Haynes was good when I used to go, got some really good bargains at one time.

I'm 50/50 on getting another escort, spares are whats putting me off currently. Shame as I had some of the best driving experiences in them in my life.

Those were the days. Cars stacked 4 high. Parts are still cheap now.
