Hi,

I was along at the Kingdom Stages Rally today down at Crail Raceway in Fife. Met up with an old colleague and also bumped in to "david" who used to post on here - the Scottish users on here will know him well

My old boss was supposed to be competing in his 2litre pinto'd Mk2 but he pulled out of the event due to having back problems. Would have been great to see him as he has been known to outpace 6R4's and get close to WRC-spec machines in terms of stage times.

Anyway I took a few pics and thought I'd share them on here:

As far as I know it is a Datsun B310 (120Y series) - he managed to save it too!

Unforunately, the driver of one of the Mk2's had a bad crunch shortly afterwards into a concrete wall and destroyed the front end of it.

Thought he looked like he'd saved it but couldn't work out what it was from that angle Bad news about the mark 2 but how good do they look on tarmac on 3 wheels! I've been watching them on gravel today and they are still the bollocks

i was there the day aswell m8 some really strong escorts on track and cheers for pic of datsun incident i missed it as i was texting the missus when my m8s just gasped by the time i looked up he was bak on all fours lol

Paulo - mk2's on 3 wheels are just awesome. I was saying to the guys I was there with today that I could easily watch mk2's all day long and forget about most of the other cars. Haven't been to any forrest events yet, but will hopefully go to one next year. What one were you at today?

Likewise, compared to the 4 wheel drive stuff today the escorts were so spectacular and looked quick. I don't know how their times compared but there didn't look to be a lot in it over the short distance we saw. I was at the Tempest down near Farnborough in Hampshire, the photos are on here

I must have been standing right next to you for a while then - I moved from that spot once the marshalls told everyone to get out of that area on top of the verge. Small world
