christ that was a strong price for sure.

big updates to tell you about.

first of all my car is now officially sorn, as its now going to be getting a full restoration which is something iv wanted to do since having the car, bit gutted ill miss the shows etc this year but its certainly going to be worth it.
Iv already began to strip the car down, and have quite a few parts already these are as follows

brand new n/s o/s inner sills
brand new n/s o/s outter sills
rear bumper repair panels
new fuel pump bracket
new fuel filter bracket
full polybush set
good second hand bonnet

the above is just scratching the surface of what ill be getting for the car and ill keep this thread updated with what i get etc.

iv also decided that the car will be changing color to mg trophy blue as its a color i really like and will suit the r5gtt well, iv also been considering ford imperial blue

the front seats will be sold and hopefully replaced with a set of rs turbo recaros

not much to update here, only that iv been collecting bits and bobs ready for the mini resto over winter.
iv also decided to keep the car its original color and i have got to get a stronger friction plate for my clutch due to my valeo uprated one not being able to handle the torque now.

they are nice and can be quick but.... regardless of how much you look after it it will break down unless you get a fluke car and are lucky with it, a good friend of mine has 4 of these all at different tuning levels some he uses on track for racing and some he just drives all require continuous care and rebuilds every few months as are prone to headgasket failure, it can also be hard to find people willing to work on them. Nice little car though they are fun to fly about in!

you can still pick a good un up for under 2k a really good un sold for £1800 a couple weeks back. my mates old red r5gtt was running a t28 with external gate it sounded very good, this was also done using the oe exhaust manifold which the so called experts said couldnt be done.
