Thought i would share these aswell.

Taken in a Cave at Nerja, no flash, no tripod, just using a handrail to stabalise the camera.

In Mijas, feel it really shows "spain"

Nothing flash, but this one always makes me want to spin it around.

And a close up monkey just because i like the tight crop on it.

Went home a bit miffed that tonights photo's were crap so i had a bit play with a torch in the dark and came up with this.

Great squirrel/mice shots, the last one is so sharp!

Nomad,
D3, very nice, i've rented one for a job in the new year, i'm hoping to upgrade to the D700 as i also crave a full frame sensor. The shot you've posted is very nice, i like the idea behind it. Are you freelance/professional?

thanks for the interest, i want to do photography full time but at the mo it doesnt pay, i hate weddings so not going down that route, i am just building a portfolio of dance so i can hold a solo exhibition, i have done some stuff already with other photographers.
still learning things and always experimenting to get something slightly different . i saw a guy on holiday with a d700 and its a good bit of kit, he bought the battery pack so it was about same size as d3, they bring new models out all the time, i have a d200 as a back up but may change it for the 700.
red thanks for the comments, i like nature shots and practice a lot with animals and birds in my garden. will post some more soon,
cheers martyn ps heres a pic taken with d200,incoming at speed ,some lenses are better than others.last for now i dont want to hog .

I've started to use ALOT of contrast in my pictures recently, I think it makes cars look much better tbh.

Taken with an eos400d, not anything special really but I like the pictures

I'll be taking alot of pictures if anybody is taking their car to FST on halloween.

some nice sharp pics there, you cant beat a bit of contrast to give punch, heres a couple of arty type movement shots, basically 1 light was shining on the ballerina from the right hand side then a slow shutter (around 1 sec) was used to capture the light trail movement, cheers martyn

You need to get my Westie to sort out that mouse! It's wouldn't last seconds with him on it's tail!

Brilliant pics though, by all. I love looking at good photography pics. Just spurs me on to take shots like those, but never really been taught.
I'm hoping to take more pics in the coming months whilst we go for walsk with the dog.

I never relised how mice they have made Newcastle by the river. Thats the sort of thing you see in Europe, not the UK. Well done to that council.

REd: nice shots. For the second one wa the ISO turned up? Seems to be quite a bit of noise in that one compared to the other.

Thanks

The ISO was the same on both shots, however the sky in the second one came out lovely but the rocks/beach were very dark, so i tweaked the exposure/lightness etc with photoshop to make it look right, which is probably the reason for the noise.

are you shooting in RAW? Are you setting the shutter speed manually?

RAW will allow you a little correction before the noise/washed out look comes in, and more control over altering white balance etc after the picture was taken.

Have you read up about how the histogram works? Thats your best bet on getting the exposure right in the field.

This is a good link:

Yes im shooting in RAW.

I only use the camera in manual mode, so i adjust shutter speed and aperture myself.

Not read about the histogram yet, but by the sounds of things i need to.
