My 2.0 Zetec Mk2 Fiesta
Some of you may remember me from back in the day (must be almost 3 years now), when this place first started!! I had a Mk4 Escort Bonus back then, here it was:
I crashed it like a plonker and then got a mk2 fiesta. Here it was when I first got it:
I paid £380 for it over 2 years ago now. A few people thought that was silly money to spend on a 957cc Fiesta (not sure why!), but it had only done 50k and was a pretty much mint shell.
Over the next couple of years, it slowly changed as I uprated parts etc. But in the last 6 or so months I've spent a fair few quid on it!
Here it is now, at Ford Fair this year!
Spec as it is at the moment:
Engine and Trans.:
2.0 Litre Series 2 Zetec engine (only done 37k miles)
Twin 45 Weber DCOE carbs
Pipercross sock filters
Facet red top fuel pump
4-2-1 Manifold
Side exit exhaust (Just finished building it so it isn't in the pics)
Escort Diesel Gearbox
Vibratechnic mounts
Saxo VTS radiator
Custom silicone hoses/stainless pipe
Suspension:
Front:
Avo coilovers
200lb springs
Poly bushes
New TCAs and tie bars
Rear:
Avo dampers
Mk4 Escort Rally Design 240lb -3" front springs
XR2 anti roll bar
Rose jointed 'beefed up' panhard rod
Poly bushes
1.5 degree negative camber axle
Welded in strut brace
Brakes:
XR2 servo and master cylinder
New XR2 calipers
Red Dot grooved discs
Mintex pads
Exterior:
13x7j Allycat Rallye Specials (Polished with black inserts)
175/50 tyres
Smoothed bumpers
Opel Manta Englemann wing mirrors
Opening front 1/4 windows
German Plates
De-locked and de-wipered boot
Raised bonnet
Single Wiper
Interior:
Stripped out!! All sound deadening removed etc
Corbeau Pro Series seats
4 point harnesses
XR2 dash
TIM oil pressure, oil temp and water temp gauges
Mountney steering wheel
That's all I can think of at the minute, but obviously there's loads more little bits
In the next couple of weeks I've got perspex windows and an oil cooler arriving, along with fibreglass bonnet and boot. I've also got new wings, rear arches and smoothed doors to go on....so then it needs a nice respray which will be done over the winter! (In the same colour of course!)
In the next couple of months, I want to get a nicely worked cylinder head and some good cams, which should see me over 200bhp then it'll be steel rods and high comp pistons etc
