Escort RS 2000 Motorsport
Did Ford ever make a RS2000 Motorsport version?
A friend of mine has one, but it's got no sunroof. We checked it in Microcat and the VIN there says it's an RS2000.

I'm the friend Jo is talking about and what I find akward about the car is not only that it lacks its sunroof which I thought was as standard on any RS2000 mk5 but the transmission is not as my other car which I'm pretty sure is original, as with approx 130km/h it already does 4000rpm in fifth gear so I suppose the final drive ratio isn't the same as the original, which is 3.82 (correct me if I'm wrong) and last but not least, it has a factory fitted original ford (ford stamp and part nr on it) sump guard and that's a thing I haven't seen on any other RS yet and I've seen quite a few in my life so if anyone has any usefull info everything is welcome

sounds like youve got yourself a rare breed of car there mate.
most probs a gordon spooner motorsport version.
GSE had the rs2000 for develpments and the good old Stig was one of the main people who gave feed back on the car ready for its F2 homologated future
even though these cars were made in 91/92 they had the later face lift bodyshells which are 3cm wider.
if your gearbox looks anything like that one........ it is worth a fortune
heres a few pics of the cars in action.
