Tuning an EFi pinto????
I managed to get a cheap old saffy with a 2.0 pinto lump in it.
Its only gonna be a cheap hack/possibly track car whilst the RS is having an engine built, so whats the easiest and cheapest thing to do to it to get it moving/handling/braking a bit quicker?
I love the sound of carbs but is it worth going twin 40's? Is it just a case of bolting them on, setting them up and going? Or is there anything that can be done to the Efi to help it along?
Best Cam for it?
Any advice would be greatfully received! ou can even have a go at donuting the old bastid.
Cheers guys.

if ya wanna get rid of the engine i no someone that might want it lol. how much do you wanna spend on it? you can get quite good power out through the standard carb so the efi system should be fine if you dont plan to soend to much.
as for the twin forties, they work fine up2 a certain limit in power then 45s are much more free flowing for the engine and 48s only realy used by proprer racers if ya get me ( wont get a great gain over the 45s )
cam again depeneds on exactly what you want from the car ie, just track days, road use, abit of both, or weather you want low end or top end power. personaly as a rule i would change the oil pump and spray bar no matter what the milage is on the engine and regardless if it has bee done before.
if you are keeping it N/A then a rebore to a 2.1 is a good cheap idea. uses machined pistons from a v6 and a 2.something overbore, shud be ok if it is a 205 block.
skimming the head will rais compression which again depened on the age of the enigne " can" be a good idea.
lots of depending factors mainly money

I had one of these a few years ago (before Cossie then Mondeo)
Here's the mods I did:
K&N 57i kit
Kent Cam Kit (they do a specific EFI kit)
Head skimmed (65 thou!!!!)
4-branch
Piper exhaust
Power Boost valve ( still have it somewhere)
removed viscous fan
Best suspension mod was fitting a Cossie r a/r/b meant welding mounts on but it handled well along with Cossie f/a/r/b spax, bushes etc.
Great car, not the fastest thing but did take some abuse and on the track too and never gave up.

LOL
I like my 2.0i. the motor and cam are starting to wear out pretty bad though due to lots of miles at high revs on the autobahn.
Mine is just stock with a K&N element and clutch fan removed.
