Exclamation I screwed up my central locking relay unit

Hi all,

Been awhile since on here browsing for solutions to problems, normally I have had success. This is however the first post (major one).
Anyhow's, I have a mk3 Orion, 1.8lxi, just recently clocked over 150k, been a great car, usual niggles here and there. Last weekend the heater blower became intermitent, I knew what the problem was, a solder joint on the central electric box (fuse box) seeing i had repaired it twice before. Problem being though this time my previous repair was perfectly intact, so a few hours of testing all the joints, I found the culprit, 10 minutes later fixed.
30 or so minutes later was re-installed back in the car and working perfectly, now was the time to fix the heating ducts that blow on the windscreen and major removal of dashboard parts.
So seeing I had acess to all the wiring decided to fit a remote controlled central locking alarm system (my keys and barrels getting well worn)............

Cutting the long story short, I shorted (forgive the pun)something in the central locking door relay box., I had the correct wires connected from the alarm to the door wires , when I heard a very quiet click, then no central locking, no OEM alarm, the alarm indicator on the dash stuck on permanently.
I dismantled the unit expecting relays, shock oh shock, it's 90% full of electronics, solid state relays suface mounted chips etc. Guess I aint gonna be able to repair it.
It seems overly complex for such a simple system, as anyone ever attempted to build a DIY replacement? that can interface with the existing wiring loom.
Anyhow, I have been looking to obtain a replacement at my local scrap yards, but they have only mk6 escorts, so I looked on EBay, found one according to the seller who as looked in the FORD microcat, even though his EBay ad say's not for deadlocked doors and at over £70 including delivery its not a cost effective option (if push comes to shove thou) for me. I am sure mine is dead locked.
SO whats this FORD microcat, is it reliable, whats finis code number, and where do I find this code on the relay unit.
Heres the details on the cover of the unit:-

91AG14093CC
RLY ASY-DOOR LOCK CONTROL
CL DL AS

Is there anyone out there (here) able to clue me up on any of this stuff, or even obtain/sell me a replacement part.

Cheers and Regards and apologies

MIke

P.S just been offered a unit from a mk5/6 owner on Ebay, can anyone confirm if this will work, details on unit are:-
G1UHF 5WK4 667
95FG 15K600 CA
