Default engine mounts.

Hello to all. I am going to fit a 1.8 zetec in to my mk4 Fiesta and was wondering if anyone has a preference on what thinkness plate to use to make the mounts with. I was thinking using 6mm plate but think is this over kill but I am turboing the engine so any advice is appreciated.

6mm is plenty, prob more than is needed,
10mm is so over the top
i'd prob agree with tab, 4mm is fine

So long as boxed in etc as per proper mount 4mm is fine.

I have got a stripped out shell. i have got the sunroof welded up but tthe roof has warped slightly. As I dont like the warp im going to put another skin on it from a scrap car. I am hoping to get the engine stripped and in place soon and the mounts made up.

Depends on the shape, size and how it is triangulated etc, if you look at some of the manufacturers mounts they are very thin, but are cleverly shaped and designed. if its all boxed in and triangulted etc then 3mm plate is ample, if its a bit of bar out on its own then much thicker stuff will be required.
